Fowler Family
Yesterday my OH got declined by NSW for state sponsorship. Their reason was that Electricians are no longer being nominated by NSW for this visa subclass. We are absolutely gutted and were not expecting this. As far as we can see, please correct me if I'm wrong, electrician (general) is on the SOL list and also on NSW SOL. We had to pay $300 to apply and feel a bit hard done by to be honest. We are using an emmigration agent also who surely would have told us that NSW don't sponsor electricians any more?? We are to speak to the agent today but what a waste of time and money. NSW are still yet to post their 2012-2013 SOl list and feel until they have posted this they should not be taking our money to reject us! Any thoughts guys? FOL
Do you have any other state as an option?
Guest ThistleandThorns
Sorry to hear you have been declined - however technically even if you pass all the criterias a state does not have to sponsor you. It's all at their discretion. However. 1)Speak to your agent and make him/her find out more details or 2) Maybe it is worth contacting NSW directly and just ask if they can give you more details as to why it was declined as far as I can see and as you say electricians are still on the list(s). Fingers crossed for you!
jove
Have you tried South Australia: Electrician (General) 341111 TRA It is on the SOL list for state sponsorship. Dono
I'm not sure where you saw that NSW is sponsoring electricians - http://www.business.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0010/5788/STNI-Update-List-of-Occupations-22.09.11.pdf Thats their latest list? Gutted:cry: You need to take it on the chin and move on, e.g. other states, family sponsorship, non sponsored? There is never any guarantee that a state sponsorship application will result in a state sponsorship. They might fill their quota in a particular occupation the day before they pick up your application or they might just be spoilt for choice and not everyone can be successful. illuminati
Sorry to hear this , but your agent should have checked before applying . On checking the NSW SS website , the occupation list that they have is from september 2011, which does not have Electrician listed there. Don't give up try for other states. Best of Luck. http://www.business.nsw.gov.au/live-and-work-in-nsw/visa-and-migration/skills-in-demand
