graham from hull
Migration agents. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. My 457 went to migration agent in Perth 6 weeks ago. Was told it will take upto 8 weeks to get 457 visa. They have done sod all about it, apart from been so sodding slow and now telling me its going to cost $5800 for the company to sponsor me, as they do not have a sponsorship agreement. What a waste of time, i was expecting my visa in the next two weeks, and now it looks like another 2 months. The company who want to sponsor me, and who are paying the above fee, want me there asap. The way this is going on, the company who want me might get fed up and bugger me off. All because of some stupid migration agent. Not bloody happy. Was going to take the kids to europe on a holiday, but said no no save the pennies to get to OZ. Now what, stuck in limbo:arghh:
Rupert
Find a new agent? That sounds like a big fee for a 457 visa.

Now what, stuck in limbo:arghh: If it is going to cost for the company to sponsor you for a 457 why arent they paying that???? Or perhaps they might meet you 1/2 way?? You could get there earlier on a bridging visa I think. Back in 04 my company wanted to do that. At the time i said no as it would have meant being here alone over Christmas with no chance to say proper goodbyes!!! Luckily my company understood and waited for me. Its paid off as I am still there almost eight years later. To be honest......457s are easy to do alone....you dont need an agent.
jhampa
I used Go matilda, really good agent !! the whole process has run like clockwork... just waiting for meds to be checked by Australia ! 457 visa, PS my agent is based in Aus so no problems with time difference if your worried about the employer. My agent responds to my emails the next day. Its not cheap but hey, if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
