Guest Melbourne4Us
Hi, I'm interested on some view points about living in the Berwick area or Point Cook. I'd pretty much settled on Berwick as our first place to live, but still can't fully get my head around moving to Australia and then being about 30 mins to the coast, so just wondered what Point Cook area was like. We've been to Berwick so are familiar with the area and houses etc, but now thinking with Point Cook being closer to he coast what it was like as an area. We have one 6 year old daughter and I'll be working in CBD, so m wife will be at home so ideally we want an area with good commute, good schools and a family friendly environment. Would appreciate any views. Thanks, Rich
gwolst77
We are in the same boat (with a four year old daughter and a 8 month old son), I move out in August and come back in November for the rest of the family. You do get a lot more bang for you buck rent wise when it comes to housing on the west side of the bay compared to the east. From all the research we have done and what we have see so far on http://www.realestate.com.au/rent, it does look like Point Cook is our prefered choice to rent until we are in a postion to buy (new build, close to beaches, facilities etc). Guest The Pom Queen
School wise (primary and high) I would choose Berwick hands down, for closeness to the CBD then Point Cook although the Westgate Bridge can be nightmares
