PaulandJanine
Meds on 21/7/12 and wife and one of my daughters referred on 30/07/12. I know it's not 30 days but joining this thread as I'm interested to know how long it's taking people to get their meds finalised. Spoke to the Spire Manchester who confirmed nothing to worry about so suppose I'll just have to sit tight and be patient like everyone else. It's good job I'm used this kind of thing now since starting the Visa process. Edited August 7, 2012 by PaulandJanine
SaraC
Hi, I am not in the 30 days either but my meds were referred today (although I took all blood tests and paperwork with me to the Panel Doctor), just wondering how long it will take for mine to finalise  x

megawatts
Hi, Just my theory, with the recent influx of those applicants running to catch the July 1, 2012 new migration policies. There had been an abnormal numbers of medicals referred to Global Health, which in my opinion too many to be handled by their good doctors. As per my experience, whenever I call GH to follow up the meds, their answer is always either the Medicals are in queue waiting assessment from MOC or they advise me to call the CO and CO should inform the GH that the visas are urgent so GH could process them. So I came to a conclusion that since there is a huge amount of backlog for medicals, GH are processing the meds according to: 1.priority 2.according to the circumstances/ reasons of applicant 3.according to the request of the CO. Ours were referred since May 31 and we only received a clear date of assessment on Aug. 3,- when I e-mailed the CO, requested her to inform GH to assess our meds due to the reasons I stated in my e-mail. I advise you guys if you have compelling reasons for your medicals to be immediately assessed then by all means inform your CO about it. Goodluck!!!
Benoli
I phoned GH last night for an update. My son's meds have been referred since 8th June and she said they had sent them for an urgent review yesterday. She couldn't really elaborate why it was 'urgent' but said its probably because I have been waiting for so long and they're trying to clear the backlog. We did have a line in our status saying they had been referred again on 26th July but she said that this was an error and I see its now been removed. She also said the meds should be finalized in the next day or two and to phone back on Friday (Thursday night for me) to check whats happening if my status hasn't changed by then.......so still waiting but got a little bit of hope up that it won't be for much longer
Guest jaycris
So you guys suggest phoning GH or e-mailing CO? I have e-mailed my CO two days ago. No replies yet... Does GH have an e-mail address?

But if you are lucky this week then thursday-assessment finalised and if no further info reqd same day visa grant... Advance congratulations Benoli.. Iam excited for you:wink:
megawatts
So you guys suggest phoning GH or e-mailing CO? I have e-mailed my CO two days ago. No replies yet... Does GH have an e-mail address? Yours referred two weeks now right?, hmmnnnn I suggest first wait for the reply of your CO, if 7 days after you email him/her then still no response, you can send a soft email to GH, check the contact details of GH in this thread... as i've said GH is currently experiencing big backlog, so dont be dismayed if there are still hundreds or even thousands others ahead of you waiting in the same line.. Goodluck buddy, you'll have your piece of cake soon..
thegibbos
Hi All, i too have been relieved to find this thread! We had our medicals on June 7th. All 3 kids were finalised June 14th. My husband was finalised July 25th (He had to get some blood pressure readings done as they were high at the medical - but were fine over a 3 week period). Mine were first referred June 20th, this was expected as I have a medical condition. I provided a specialist report at my medical, but they came back early July and asked a question regarding medication (which I am no longer on). I got another specialist letter back to them by July 18th. This has not changed since and neither have I heard anything. I've called our panel Dr in England and they've said everything has been sent off from them and that we now need to deal with GH. I've been trying to be patient, as i do feel nervous due to my medical condition. Today though I decided to email my CO to ask if they do have everything that they need as nothing has changed on our application since July 3rd against my name. Its funny isn't it....when you're waiting for a CO, you don't give it much thought and you just get on with life, but as it gets closer, its all you think about! My poor family in Australia are texting/facetime every other day and can't believe its taking so long! Me.... I'm getting more nervous each day and am becoming more negative I've no idea how they cost you up - if its as a family or individual... I keep saying each week "We should know this week..." and another week passes! We got our CO at the beginning of May so its really dragging out now and everything is hanging on me now! Anyway.... Let's hope we all hear some positive news this week. L x

megawatts
Hi, Have you able to communicate with your CO or Global Health?, because for me there is a great difference between waiting and letting them know that you're very keen in hearing the results, as compared to waiting and keeping quiet.. By the way which team process your application?
Guest jaycris
Just called Global Health. I was told it has been forwarded to the Medical Officer of the Commonwealth and SHOULD be finalised in the next 2-3 weeks (she did say that she could not give the exact timeline)
Guest kenken91
Finally, I got my 475 visa approval. My medical had been referred since 29/06/2012 and just now, without the finalisation of meds, I got the approval email from the C/O. Thanks to this forum, I could have some relief with comrades^^ during the short(?) waiting period. Best lucks to all of you. Benoli
well we're absolutely gutted this morning. Was expecting our son's meds to be finalized and possibly even have our visa but instead have got an email from GH asking for more information!! Don't have much choice but to set about getting what they want but also really annoyed. My son has a minor speech delay. He has no other diagnosis nor is he likely to get one. We were asked to get a report from a pediatrician or an educational psychologist......we got from one a pediatrician which was quite favorable in what they had written. Now GH want one from an educational psychologist. They want the psychologist to give details on exactly the same things they asked for before. Why didn't they just say in the beginning they wanted one from each of them??! :arghh: not only is this going to cos us more money but its also going to take a bit of time. We had our meds done at the end of May! Can't believe we now have yet another burning hoop to jump through.......ah well, we may just get on with it. Hope everyone else gets something more positive soon xx

Benoli
jaycris....you're absolutely right! thanks, has made me feel a bit more positive  and I know exactly what we're going to do this time. When the panel doc confirms they've sent the report off, I'll be phoning GH every night for an update, I definitely won't be leaving them to get on with it in their own time! I work nightshift at the minute so it won't be a problem being up late for me
