mpt
What do you mean "further medical required" - do you mean the CO asked you to get another exam by a specialist, or...? And I'm really surprised it took from 15th April to 16th September for your second medical results. How odd. I have been asked for sputum examination and it was passed as all comes to negative and no issue. The result time took 2 months
CollegeGirl
Oh, I understand. The process is different for TB than for other kinds of medical issues that result in referrals. That makes sense.

Eye Spy
Hi, Anyone have experience of their '' organise your health examination '' link disappearing to then read that the health requirements for this applicant have not yet been determined and that any health examination requirements will be decided upon appointment of a case offer. Then that disappeared to be replaced with the original ''organise your health examination'' link a few hours later. Does this mean that the medicals are after been referred ? Regards, E.S. vickywan
hi all...im a physio...holding portuguese passport...application of 885 visa lodged in July 2012. CO allocated in Oct 2012. Asked for medicals in Dec 2012..mine provided and my wife is overseas in Hong Kong...she completed her checks but were then required to provide further reports by specialists (which I guess is what you have been referring as "medicals referred"?)...further medicals submitted in Jan 2012 and have been waiting until now..CO said theres backlog for MOC to finalize overseas medicals...so...still...no news.....its been 16 months...almost 18 months..but it says on immi website that it should take less than 18 months...have been trying to contact the CO or the dept but only received standard replies... any ways to get into contact with CO? my wife got some problems with her travel visa just last month...consulate in Hong Kong rejected to grant her a travel visa because it says on system dat her PR medicals are not ok..after a lot of checking and verification..finally cleared to grant her a travel visa to just come n visit me...i guess they are still on the original medicals and not touch the specialist reports yet..dis is why her results are still pending as commented by CO....if her medical condition is determined as serious threads to Aus..i guess she won't be granted temp residency before...CO or MOC should be deciding?!??!? any similar cases?? this travel visa issue is the only thing that can trigger MOC to clear meds for her travel visa and also maybe alert CO a bit the existence of my case..... CollegeGirl
Holy cow... that is the longest I have ever heard of anyone waiting for referred medicals. Previously we were seeing people wait 3-4 months... seems to be less now. I wish I knew who to tell you to go to about this - I'd be filing a complaint somewhere. That is a ridiculous wait. CollegeGirl
Hi mpt - I never even got word from my CO that my medicals were referred for sure. Every time my agent contacts them we just a boiler-plate response: "5-12 months." No help at all. I've been waiting over six months now for my visa. Previously, PMVs (what I applied for) took 4-5 months for the US but now seem to be taking longer.

Umer Manzar
Hi, Just to update that our Family's (Husband, wife and two kids under 5) medicals were uploaded by our Health Assessment Centre through e-medicals on 27th Dec (Myself and both kids) and 30th Dec (Wife), status of which is now reflecting as finalized for both kids and myself, whereas my wife's medical finalization is still pending. We're hopeful that these will be finalized by tomorrow at the latest.
RobRedpath
Anyone have any recent Timescales of how long the medicals are taking after being referred to the MOC?
harby88
Once GH & MOC had all the details needed it took no time at all (about 2 weeks max and that was over the Christmas period) for our visas to come through
RobRedpath
Was that from the date of the medicals being referred or after the MOC requested further info?
harby88
that was from them getting all the info they needed.........from the meds referred was 8 months........long story!
RobRedpath
Jesus, my partners medical got referred yesterday. I was hoping it would take 3 weeks max until the grant. Looks like I could be wrong!
Guest
Jesus, my partners medical got referred yesterday. I was hoping it would take 3 weeks max until the grant. Looks like I could be wrong! Depends. My partner visa referred medicals were running at 3 months. Still plenty of time within the visa grant timeframe so I never worried about it. Guest
Yes my medical has been completed but my girlfriends has been referred, we supplied loads of supporting evidence with her medical but still got referred. hopefully it will only take a few weeks. If she has an medical condition, even with supporting evidence it will most likely be referred as a matter of course. That you supplied further info with it is a good thing. Hopefully when someone casts their eye over it it will be fine.
RobRedpath
Hopefully, I'm having to go to New Zealand tomorrow to apply for a WHV so I can start work, we are both on a tourist visa over here at the moment and was hoping to have the grant by now. I need to start working as our dog is coming over in 3 weeks and need to secure a rental.
harby88
depends what the referrals for, if it's a simple case and you've already got medical reports etc and don't need any more investigations then it's pretty simple - once MOC had all that off us and they didn't want anything else it literally took a couple of weeks max; the 8 months was down to ct scans and 6 months of TB treatment, once that was done it was really quick. Good Luck hope it's quick & painless; one thing, immigration are pretty good and give as much assistance & support as needed.
