Can anyone help with this please? We did our medicals back in Feb, we only ended up lodging (186 decision ready) our visa in June due to unforeseen circumstances. We knew our sons medical would be referred, and it was graded B. We assumed it would be put in the queue to be assessed by MOC straight away.

We now have a case officer, who has contacted to say information is missing on our sons medical basically so a decision can't be made and can we make another appointment with the medical clinic. I called Medibank and they said because we wasn't lodging our visa back in Feb they 'filed' his medical?! They've advised that all the CO needs to so is email them and they will release his medical. They were not all that clear on whether it had been already assessed by MOC or not. Has anyone got any experience of this? I am hoping to god it was assessed, as it seems absolutely ridiculous to me that they would file away his medical knowing it needed referring for assessment (knowing there was such a backlog too). Even our MA is at a loss, and hasn't heard of this before. (We are on a 457 visa so we are on Australia). Hoping someone can shed some light here, as I am just flummoxed by it all. I was so excited that we finally got a CO and now this clanger has been dropped, meaning we could have weeks more of waiting.

Has no one heard of the above situation then?

@CollegeGirl: Why would a person who is not migrating need to do his/her medicals? Seems odd to me.

I think the dependent only who is not migrating with you will also needs to do medical. Not every one as it makes sense he/she soon or later would like to migrate ...

Hi saiananad795,

Thanks for baptizing me as an Immi expert in PIO. Cheers lad. SInce I'm an expert let me rap my charge. I will be with yah don't worry.

I'm still in the making so how about you ask me and I will advice yah. Questions in regard to visa 189 fees is AUD $ 1500 , For Visa 190 SN AUD $ 2000 , HR countries extra AUD $ 2000. To register with me Aud $ 150.

Please Note : That visa fee is not included and if your application is not successful you will be getting 20 % back of what agent fees you paid. Air tickets on me KANGHOP AIRWAYS. Private Chartered flight with DJ Alesso hahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahahahah

Just mucking with yah.

Well first of all I wish you and your family good health always. Now since you have asked me this question regarding medicals hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm well I don't know much about medicals or human body and I'm pretty bad at it. All I know is to drink Beer and Cognac and make sure you have a good time flushing it out lol.

All I can tell you is that since I had history of jaundice I was waiting as well and received my grant after 2 and half months. Apparently referred cases are taking 2 to 3 months. I wish you luck. Since they updated it on 19 July 2013 just count 2 to 3 months from there. if lucky you can receive your grant even tomorrow. Can't say anything mate. Again all the best and please share the news with us & hey my ACCOUNT NO: 007 007 007 007 007 Bank : Koala Bank hahahahhahaha just kidding.

Cheers,

Shugah

Hi Maitreyee,

Well since you have done it from India, so it comes under High Risk countries and even if there is no problem with medicals then it will get referred. This does not mean that it will get referred but sometimes it does. It goes to Global Health where they go through the reports provided by the panel doctor from your country.

This is according to my experience I'm not an expert. Please read more regarding this & you can gage that usually after submitting medicals and police Clearance one can get their grant within 2 to 3 days.

If you dont hear from your CO for the next 1 week then you can mail him directly. Ask him that he received it or not or how much time it takes. He will reply you by saying that its under assessment at MOC or Global health ( both are the same so dont get confused). If you still don't hear anything then mail him after 2 weeks again to ask him if he requires anything. Usually they dont reply but if your CO has lot of time in his hands then he will reply back.

Referred cases are taking approx 2 to 3 months. If you are lucky then you can get it within 15 days. No one can give you an estimate, it all depends on how much files they have to clear.

If you applied for your 190 then you can see what tests need to be done. Also if you go to immi website they have Doctors panel list and then you can contact them, depending on which part of the country you are from. When you call them then they will advise you what needs to be done. Since they have lot of people coming for medicals for Aus. In my case for both me and my wife Chest X ray, blood test for HIV, normal body check up.

Please don't forget to tell them about your health history. Don't lie as you never know if they can find out.

We did our test before CO was assigned to us. I reckon it saves time. Mine got referred because I had history of jaundice.

Visa Lodged : 21 May 2013 , Medicals : 23 May 2013 , CO assigned : 03 June 2013 , CO received my wife's medical not mine so I attached medical receipt and also submitted form 80, waiting , 15 June 2013 mailed CO regarding my medicals and he replied on 19 June 2013 " It's under assessment at Global health", PCC : 26 June 2013, Waiting , Mailed Co again in July no reply , Grant : 15 August 2013 yoooooooooo hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Cheers,

Shugah

Hi shugah ..need to undst this better...do all reports go to MOC and thn if any issues MOC refers thm furthur.OR do the reports go the CO and he if any issues passes them to MOC.Any idea?

Hi Shreya,

In my case, I had history of jaundice and I told my Doc at the medical center that is why mine was referred, as the MOC or Global health ( both are the same) will scan your medical report again. They want to make sure that you don't bring ( any sickness or disease) anything to AUS. I have heard that in cases of Tuberculosis and HIV, they are pretty strict.

If your medical history is good and health in top form then it won;t get referred. Not all reports go to MOC. The panel Doc in your country provides the report to the immi and he if you have declared ( any medical history during your medicals) than it will go to MOC and then to CO. If all is good then directly to CO.

It also depends on which country you are from. If you belong to High Risk countries which you can check on immi site, then chances are that it will get referred. But that's not the case for everyone, majority yes. Some people have no problem in their medicals still their cases were referred because they belonged to HR countries.

Once the MOC will clear your file then they will pass it on to CO. Please note that CO has no role in that and he can't do anything for you if your case is referred. All he can do is ask on your behalf and sometimes not always, can give you an estimate on how much time it can take. Apparently it is taking 2 to 3 months for referred cases. Mine 2 and half months.

Just remember that if you have any medical history then don;t lie, as there are ways they can find out. I'm not an expert, I'm not an immi agent and I don't represent any agency or government ( Just a normal bloke who loves his Cognac and beer). My own experience is what you gonna read. Still wanna say thanks to people who think I'm an expert lol. Looks like I have another option of jumping from Sales to Migration agent. hahahahah wish me luck.

Cheers,

Shugah

Hi I just had my medical. I have a pre existing condition. I took specialist and doctors letter to the examination. The doctor review these and also spoke with the supervising doctor. The doctor said they should be fine but my examination has been referred to the commonwealth for review. I was not given any kind of referral letter today to see a specialist... Has anyone else experienced this?

Not sure if I'm in for a 3 month wait or not...

Cheers

That's what the doctor said (as in who it's referred to), but I called DIAC and medibank today to ask and they said it will be reviewed by medibank within 10 days and medibank may ask me to see a specialist. If medibank do not ask me to see a specialist then the DIAC may choose to ask me to see a specialist.

The lady at medibank said the new electronic HAP ID system means she can't be sure if the specialist request comes from them or DIAC as its a new process. And a specialist report may not be requested.

Best case, it's reviewed by medibank, they don't request a specialist report and they send their result to DIAC in 10 days, the DIAC don't request a report and its ticked off in a reasonable period of time.

If it doesn't quite work out like that then I'm probably going to be a member of the 3 month wait club! Which I kind of expected anyway! Damn.

You're looking at three months right now, Amigo, unfortunately.

EDIT: Unless you mean it was referred some time ago and you've been notified they're now finally looking at it. That would be more information than most people get, though, so I assumed you meant it was just referred Monday.

CollegeGirl - The above is what happened...very confusing. So I have now been told directly, as our case officer has emailed and stressed that this is the only outstanding thing left, and can they please make it their upmost priority to process asap, that our child's medical is now with a doctor.

I was advised that if a case officer stresses urgency, via email (I was given a direct email address to pass on) then it really does make a difference. Of course our medicals were carried out in February, so this should have been done.

That's great! I don't think I've ever seen anyone get notified when that happens, so yours is probably sort of an unusual case? I don't know if anyone will be able to answer you. But I hope so! :) YAY for you being this close to the end! :)

Hi CollegeGirl ,when whr urs referred ?are u assigned a CO ?Did he update you by when can u expect them to be cleared?

My medicals were sent to Immi around June 17 (panel exam was June 4... not sure why it took so long? Anyway...). My CO is a US CO, so won't help you unless you applied from the US as well. I have not heard from my CO at all other than my acknowledgment/request for medicals (happens at the same time for US applicants) two weeks after I applied. I have not heard for sure that my medicals were referred, but given my medical issues I have no doubt they were. Hoping they were referred pretty soon after Immi got them from the panel doc... that would mean I'd hit three months referred Mid-September.

My CO is a woman. :) But no, I haven't. I'm working with an agent (the best, actually) so I don't just want to contact my CO without their input. And frankly I know my best strategy right now is to just be patient. With my medical issues, I don't want to bug my CO unless I have a good reason to.

After our medicals on Wednesday, I logged in to our application today and my part still says "Organise your health examinations" and my girlfiend's says "No health examinations are required for this person for this visa subclass based on the information provided to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship." I'm guessing this means her medicals have cleared and mine are in the referral review queue...?

Hi All,

I have been following this blog silently since March. I wouldn’t hesitate to say this blog have wealth of informations and members are very helpful.

I have few questions in regards to my mrs medical that after having done the medical 2 weeks back she called High Commission to check medical is received by HC or not, she was told by her CO that medical is cleared, on last Friday 30th Aug, she called again for a follow up and she was told that her medical is cleared and her file is still in processing stages, pending some clarifications. Please note that no further documents have been asked.

Does her medical is All Cleared and ready for CO to make decision. Based on the above conversation what time frame should I expect for visa grant?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My mrs timeline is below: 309-Married

Application: 15-Feb-2013, CO Assigned: 25-Feb-2013, Medical Requested: 12-Aug-2013, Medical Conducted: 19-Aug-2013

Hello,

Our medical center submitted our medicals on 16th June to DIAC and after couple of days submission our daughter (3.5 yrs old) medicals were showing as final on the e visa portal but medicals for both of us were showing required. I contacted CO she said its with global health officer and till yet we have no news from CO or no change on the portal.

Can someone tell me how much time they are taking to finalize medicals these days if referred.

Cheers.
