Hi Fion

Tina and Eddie here, our daughter Chelsea is also 12 and she is also feeling the same way as you. We've already booked our flights and will arrive in oz next month. Chelsea is getting more excited though as the time moves on.

I'm sure Chelsea will be on in the next day or two to say hello.

No need to worry, you'll love it.

Tina and Eddie

Just to let you know - it's not just scary for children / teenagers. Me and my husband have been in Australia for 3 1/2 months now and it's still quite scary for us. But the scariness is good - it's like we've been on an adventure and still learning new things.

We've both had to find new jobs and are making friends and are settling down nicely - you will as well in time!

You are lucky - you've got your parents with you, we've just opened our Christmas presents without our mums and dads, which was a bit sad for both of us. It is easy to keep in touch with people in England though - we are on the webcam every few days to someone in our families - your friends will surely keep in touch like this or by email / skype etc. I think your friends may even get a bit jealous as well.

The best advice I can give you is keep sharing how you feel with your parents and keep surfing the internet for as much info as you can find about Australia. Start making a list of things you'd like to see and do when you get here - you'll be amazed at just what is possible.
