Phil & Vikki
We are living in Sydney currently and was thinking of bringing out our cat from the UK. Does anyone know how much money we would be looking at to do this and what kind of timelines are involved?
nicolac34
Firstly they have to be vaccinated against rabies and then have their blood tested 4 weeks later. Once you get a clear result you have to wait six months until they can fly for them to spend the least amount of time in quarantine (30 days) otherwise they'd have to spend the whole six months in quarantine. Cost wise, Pet Air have shipped our cat, cost us £1,300 for the Gold package (they've done everything) and then $1,100 for the 30 days quarantine in Perth. So far so good for us, we pick up the cat on Saturday next week and can't wait!
Phil & Vikki
Thanks for the reply, that is not as bad as we thought. If the cost is coming in at that figure, it may be a viable option.
BobPetairUK
Dear Nicola C Thanks for the post - you beat me to it! I hope you are already to get your little cat back - it is an exciting day and so email us with the details. Phil and Vikki - the cost is exactly right, but the think which is most hard to do is to time the rabies vaccinations and rabies blood samples for 5-12 months before the flight so your cat does the minimum 30 days quarantine stay. Also if you are going to Perth, then start planning early as the quarantine station gets really booked up. Anything else let us know bob
