Guest mandy&Jem Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Hi Sian, my three children, Callum 14 Naomi 12 and Brittany are all having to redo there school years as well.....my advice is to get a copy of your previous years studies and E.mail the school you are joining/or a similar school if not enrolled in one yet and ask the head if he can e.mail a copy of the years work for all the subjects in your chosen year and ask whether you have to redo all subjects............... good luck...-x-
Lazy Cow Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Hi Naomi, We're in SA but the basics appear to be the same ... yrs 11/12/13 are all about gaining curriculum points which go towards your certificate of education - WACE (Western Australia Certificate of Education). My daughter and her friends have had a pretty varied course 'menu' to choose from and you can also gain WACE points working - kids working in places like MacDonalds can gain SACE points and I guess it's the same in WA. I'm sure you know that if you want to go on to uni you will need to get a TER (Tertiary Entrance Rank) but I think that's in yr 12 Well. that's the best I can do...my daughter is only just starting on yr11 work in January, so it's pretty new to me. I did find this (just now, by fluke!); http://newwace.curriculum.wa.edu.au/pages/home.asp Hopefully it'll help! LC
