Guest Davidgolf Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Hi Willow We have been in Dasiy Hill for about 3 months now and we are really happy we made the move but we are missing our friends how about you,our kids are 9,17,and 19 yrs and they all are here with us,our 17 yrs son has found it hard to get settled but he is doing well now and he has just got his ps2 and his xbox as our stuff came yesterday so he is really pleased. Guest willow Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 We were from Horbury nr wakefield, my 17yr old daughter has taken a while to settle in but she has now realised that she has a much better lifestyle here!and once she made friends we hardly see her! She has just finished her OP and has got a good enough grade to go to Uni in Brisbane but is taking a year out before she goes. Its hard with kids and the first 6 months I guess were the toughest for us all, I can remamber picking them up from the first day at school and they were all three in tears!!! I felt so bad! But now its all good and not one of them would like to return to the UK except on a holiday perhaps phew! So if it does get rough stick together and talk about your feelings and you will get thro. x

Guest davepowoz Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Hi Willow, Dave here. We are just sorting our move to Queensland. Have got visa'a etc and did a flying visit back in oct. Went to Noosa and loved the Sunshine Coast. Could you give any advice on the best areas to settle. We have to boys aged 8 and 9 who want surf and play rugby. Struggling to pick, too much to choose from. Might have to stick a pin in and hope for the best. Cheers Dave.

Guest davepowoz Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Hi Willow, Thanks for reply. What are the names of the schools if you don't mind me asking, so I can look them up and get a bit more info. We went passed Peregian and looked at a few houses in estate agents. What are the prices like there at the moment and would it be hard to get a rental. Cheers Dave PS Happy New Year
