smithinoz
Just curious as all previous months seemed very quick..... Some of the may team took some time to get a CO - believe me, once you get a CO any waiting you go through seems even worse!
dazzmatazz
Thanks for that, I'm going to phone his neurosurgeon tomorrow and ask for his file just incase they ask for it. Hopefully it will be straight forward!! Ask the neurosurgeon for a short term prognosis of any required follow up care. If there is not likely to be anything, or at least for the next few years it is helpful for them to say so and any other motivations. I know that the doctor that did our medicals asked for all this and so they sent the information from the specialist off with all our medical results. I am not sure what would happen if they needed it but did not have it. I was worried about it and did research. From what I know if you are turned down on medical grounds you have 30 days to appeal. There is a migration attorney OZ who has a good track record with having these things overturned. I don't have his details on me now but send me a personal message if you need it. The reality is that you are most likely not going to need anything and all will go fine.

dazzmatazz
Hi Hoe5, just wondered if your OH has had the paper copy back from Vetassess yet? I think he did it same day as my OH in London. It is showing successful on their website (since Monday I think) and they say they will e-mail when it is processed but we have not had anything yet and cant finalise Vic SS without it. Its getting so tight to be in by end of June!!! Thanks. I emailed VETASSESS and asked them to email me my results. My assessment was confirmed on 14/06/12. I got a response saying they could not email results and I had to send them an email asking them to fax it (had to be the same fax number as what was on your application form). I did this and had a copy faxed to me this morning. have applied to WA with that copy and am hoping it is ok. Will let you know.

Guest fultonclan
Jennifer and Rach, I actually asked this question before but in a different manner. Once the DIAC progress status update shows "Application is now being processed further" ..... This shows you will now have higher blood pressure due to the excitement of waiting for the final stage good news - in short it tells you a CO has being assigned. Good luck! Wow! Thanks if that's true then our status showed 'processing further' the day after we submitted then the next day it was 'processing commenced', which means we had a CO in two days!!!! Happy days!!!

Mine changed to that the day after I submitted it, but I didn't get an official response from the CO until the 16th (so 2 weeks later) at which point she asked for additional info. Good luck. Guest Suzi Wong
Thanks for info re Vetassess. I was sure someone on here had a scanned copy emailed to them but will get OH to contact them again re fax copy, cheers. This is becoming pretty stressful, trying to meet end of June deadline, fingers crossed!
JohnAli
The original question was referring to police checks not medicals. Everyone needs a medical. But children don't need police checks. He he that's me butting in and not reading the whole thread !! Ali

Hope this helps good luck xx Thanks, I did so yesterday and had a reply from them this morning. The email was a "provide more information" email. Everything else was sufficient and accepted, including my faxed, and then scanned copies of my skills assessment. All they wanted me to confirm that I have access to $20 000 per single applicant. Now there are two adults and 2 children on my application. I hope I have done the right thing by replying to them and saying I have access to $40 000. This is true per se as my family living in WA already have got money in saving (its not mine) which I could get them to show as available. I have read on other forum posts that WA never really follow through with the whole funds available story. Please can others share there experience with this aspect and what if anything do they do in terms of this.

paris hipon
Hi guys I just have a quick question. I have lodged my 176 visa on june 19th. Just want to ask should I wait for the case officer's email that I should take medicals and pccs? Or should I do it right now. Im just confused since when I read the rules on the paper application of 176 visa it states there do not take medicals or pccs until told so. However If you applied your visa online it states that you need to submit your police checks within 28 days of lodgement. Im confused now. So does this mean since I applied online I should do now my police checks and medicals? So far I havent heard any email from them right now. Replies will be greatly appreciated thanks in advance! Edited June 22, 2012 by paris hipon

Many of the May team pre loaded their meds and PCC's. I waited until I was asked. Guess who is still waiting to receive their grant - yes me. If I had my time again I would pre load to save delays. paris hipon
I see maybe I should do the same thing do the meds and pccs before they ask! Thanks smithinoz :cute: There are differing opinions on this. Guest PBrady
I see maybe I should do the same thing do the meds and pccs before they ask! Thanks smithinoz :cute: Hi, I have front loaded my meds and pcc without a case officer being allocated, my meds are now showing as finalised and application being processed further. I have taken the following from immi website "If your application is in Priority Group 1 or 3; or was lodged within one month of the dates listed in the table above for Priority Groups 4 or 5: you can proceed with health and character clearances ahead of your application being allocated" Check out the link to see what priority your are http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/estimated-allocation-times.htm and if you are within the groups 1 to 3 I would assume its best to get the meds and pcc done. Hope this helps

Now a 176 FAMILY sponsored application is a different priority processing and can take over 12 months to be completed so it would be unwise to do until you are contacted. With a 176 SS you are contacted within a max of 4 weeks after it being lodged. Thus I don't see any harm in starting the process as it is only likely to speed things up and the risk is low. It is not like you are not allowed to do it.
dalawton
Hi Murta, I'm probably jumping the gun a little but decided to just go for it and get everything done and dusted. I have done everything myself so far without using an agent. I'm hoping that a CO will be appointed soon to box everything off. Makes no difference really whether you go ahead or wait for your CO. It's a time thing. All the best, dalawton

Guest ronkhu
Hi, I am in middle of filling in the 176 Application form and am now on the screen which says the following : Provide details of all countries in which you, your spouse/de facto partner or dependents (migrating or not) have lived for 12 months or more (since turning 16) during the last 10 years. The 12 month period of residence may be made up of a number of shorter periods. You must account for every year. Can anyone please let me know if I have to fill in details of addresses where we have lived even if we have not stayed anywhere apart from out home country ? I also noticed that in the "Applicant Past Employment" section, I have to select my Position but my designation is not listed in the dropdown list - What should i select ? Can any one please help - its urgent - I am filling the application form now and in the middle of completing it.
Guest ronkhu
I was filing my 176 visa application today and I made the payment after which I was directed to a page where I need upload my documents but all of a sudden my internet connection went off and when it was back, I was not allowed to upload any further documents stating that my application was now already lodged. Now, when i log in with my TRN number, I see the only few documents that I uploaded exist there but the problem now is that, I have not uploaded most of the documents, infact , for the dependents, i did not upload any documents at all. Can anyone please let me know what i should do ???
Guest ronkhu
Finally, I have managed to successfully apply for my 176 today and also uploaded all the documents except for the Passport sized photograph for all of us and my spouse's IELTS certificate. Ste5hk
We have done it!!!!!! Just applied for our visa!!!!! Didn,t think we were going to make it. My trade bricklayer was took off the SOl list on 1st July 2012 so we were really nervous waiting for our IELTS results today as everything depended on getting a level 7 across the board otherwise we would have had to wait until my trade went back on the list. What a relief:biggrin:
