LisaIan
Just a bit of information for anyone looking to obtain their 2nd whv through wwoofing: Wwoof recently changed their guidelines regarding hours worked per day to qualify for the 2nd year whv. Wwoofers are now required to work 7-8 hours per day to qualify, whereas wwoofers who are NOT using the work toward a 2nd year visa come under the general 4-6 hours work a day in return for food and board. Further, more detailed information can be found via this link: http://www.wwoof.com.au/overseas.html It sounds like DIAC are cracking down on 2nd whv applications that are using Wwoofing as the specified work. I understand that this information has been emailed to wwoof hosts.
BritChickx
Cheers for posting that, was planning on doing that but you got there first! Good job I never stayed in aus and used wwoofing as a way to get my 2nd year visa as i'd be screwed! i only did 4-5 hour days.
LisaIan
Cheers for posting that, was planning on doing that but you got there first! Good job I never stayed in aus and used wwoofing as a way to get my 2nd year visa as i'd be screwed! i only did 4-5 hour days. No worries, I also used a bit of Wwoofing toward the 2nd year visa but was definitely putting in 35-40 hour weeks but I know most people only do 4 hour days. I understand why they've done it but with jobs that fall into 'specified work' so hard to get it just seems like they're making the 2nd visa that much harder to get.
