congratulations_2_multi.gifJune, on getting your case officer, that's one step closer, but I think, and please don't take my word for it, but on a CP visa you could still be in for a long wait.

Enjoy your year in OZ , and good luck.

Hi June

Since you have applied forthe temporary CP 173 visa, the remaining wait should not be too bad.

Obviously you need to get the meds done. Have the UK police checks been completed? Currently there is a backlog of around 4-6 weeks at the Local Health Clearance Unit in Sydney, which now handles all the meds for CP visas.

The CO probably won't let you pay the 2nd Instalment until s/he has confirmation that your Meds are OK. Once the money is paid, the CO will send you a pre-grant letter (and might even do this at the same time as requesting the dosh.)

The letter will explain that you must leave Australia before your CP 173 visa can be granted. The CO will ask you to describe your travel plans and to specify where you want the visa to be evidenced (ie the visa label pasted into your passport.) That will obviously be Bali, Singapore or wherever you are planning to go for this purpose.

I had a PM from another couple who have applied for a CP 173 visa . They have paid the 2nd Istalment and everything is ready to go. They are planning to go to Auckland for a few days and their visas will be evidenced there.

Apparently in December and the first 3 weeks in January, flights between Brisbane ad Auckland are very expensive. They are planning to leave for Auckland on 24 January. This must be a good 2 months since they received the pre-grant letter, but apparently their CO is quite happy to wait.

But it definitely won't be much longer before you have your CP visa, chooks.

Cheers

Hi June

Oooooh yes you do, hunny!!!!! Form 80 is a bluddy NIGHTMARE because 1/2 of it seems to be a repetiton of the information which you have already provided - ad infinitum and ad nauseam - in Form 47PA.

But it does have to be completed, so find a quiet four hours, wrap a cold towel round your head and prepare to do battle with that wretched Form 80, my love! :arghh:

Cheers

Hi Cat

What news on the Rialto? Are your daughters playing the interminable waiting game with their visas at the moment?

Happy Christmas to you, June and everyone else on PiO.

Cheers

Hi Gill,

Yes daughters are playing the waiting game, one got acknowledgement this month and money taken the other got receipt (I think) and no money taken, and was told acknowledgment in 12 weeks, both applied at same time for same type of visa, so second one not a happy bunny, but it looks like they are in for a long wait, they had wanted to be out there by July/August the latest so kids could start school in September, but who knows, just wait and see like everyone else. Stress levels rising rapidly.

Read your thread about the banned agent, good one, I had been following that on BE, it certainly added a bit of excitement, don't know what I will do with my time now,

Hope you have a great Xmas and I look forward to reading all your well informed advice/words of wisdom in the New Year.

:jiggy:

Regards

Cat
