Guest J.and.K Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Our youngest daughter has a development delay>speech,communication..... she's 2.5! lost of things have been mentioned but at her age it is mostly guesswork! However because of the problem the paperwork is a nightmare and we're all stressed to death for christmas! Its not TB....Its not Hiv or AIDS...Its not obesity... in fact it really isnt anything yet! But we think that these are the only conditions that can result in an immediate refusal. so fingers crossed! We had no warning and if we dont make it we'll be well VERY UPSET.
Selah Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Dear J&K Our hearts go out to you as I have been reading your thread and find it so ridiculous! The idea of accurately diagnosing a 2 1/2 year old with a developmental problem is absurd. I led a mums & toddlers group with a child who at 3 1/2 was not speaking intelligibly - parents were told something was wrong and that they were in denial. I lost track of her for several years. Now she's in one of my theatre classes at the age of 7 and I can't shut her up! Don't know what happened in between but there's certainly no communication or self confidence issues. Best wishes now that I'm done with my rant. Liz
