hi everyone i am new to the site but have been reading for a couple of weeks and it is brilliant!

we are going through TRA process for hairdressing, if anyone has any tips they would b greatly appreciated. we r going it alone.

 

also any tips on IELTS test?

 

does anyone know about buying houses in perth, we heard u cant buy for 2 years, is this right?

As long as you are on a visa that confers PR in Oz, you can buy any house you like as soon as you get there. If you have never owned property in Australia before, you will get thefirst time buyer's grant, which is a Federal Initiative and is worth $7,000.

 

Some States also offer a stamp duty offset as well, but practice varies from one State to the next about this, and I don't know the rules for WA. The Members on here who ca tell you are:

Welcome to PIO it is a fab site, I'm totally hooked on it, it is full of useful information. I used Go-Matilda to help us with our application, this agent was recommended by a friend who has been living in Oz for the last 4 months. We are in the process of completing our visa sponsorship now, as we are hoping to get a state nomination in Victoria, so I can do my hairdressing for two years and then hopefully be in a position to have my own business. Ielts test piece of p***!! My OH took it and he's from Glasgow!!! Say no more (don't get offended fellow glaswegians only havin a laugh at my hubbys expense!!) He took the academic one by the way!!!
