Guest Gollywobbler Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Hi April Welcome to Poms in Oz. Hairdressing: Poms In Oz - Search Results In addition, we have several Members who hasve successfully passed the TRA skills assessment based on hairdressing. You need to go into IMMENSE detail. Exactly how do you wind hair round a roller? Etc etc. IELTS: Poms In Oz - Search Results Splash As long as you are on a visa that confers PR in Oz, you can buy any house you like as soon as you get there. If you have never owned property in Australia before, you will get thefirst time buyer's grant, which is a Federal Initiative and is worth $7,000. Some States also offer a stamp duty offset as well, but practice varies from one State to the next about this, and I don't know the rules for WA. The Members on here who ca tell you are: Ali Mrs Braveheart Bobcat BullcreekBob Bobcat is a real estate Agent, so he can give you a lot of help with the bricks & mortar. Bobullcreek Bob is a mortgage broker, so he can help you with that side of buying a house. All four may well respond to this thread but if not, then PM them, I would suggest. They are all very nice people who are more than willing to help. Best wishes Gill
TaniaColin Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Hi April, Welcome to PIO it is a fab site, I'm totally hooked on it, it is full of useful information. I used Go-Matilda to help us with our application, this agent was recommended by a friend who has been living in Oz for the last 4 months. We are in the process of completing our visa sponsorship now, as we are hoping to get a state nomination in Victoria, so I can do my hairdressing for two years and then hopefully be in a position to have my own business. Good Luck with it all and anything you need help with just ask.
