Guest Mrs Braveheart Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Hi Bill Did the letter you send with the money in it get returned to you? If so this happened to my mum when she sent my boys money over for xmas last week. My sister in law sent money over in a card no problems at all in september strange ??? What mum had to do was put the money into a Western Union account through the traveller agent, she then phoned me with a reference number so I need to go to one of their branches to collect it. i don't know if she was charged for this. Hope that helps. Janette
Quoll Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Going the other way, from Aus to UK, I just put money directly into a bank account - easy as can be but you always have to pay the conversion fee. In this day of the internet, I would be thinking about getting her to set up a paypal account so you can just put money directly into her paypal account. It's how people are paid when they sell something on ebay. I dont know exactly how it works but I think she can nominate a bank account of some kind and the money goes directly in. Of course, there are always going to be fees associated with that but you pay fees no matter how you transfer money via international money orders or bank transfers.
