Finally got my Visa this morning, the form says I have to contact the Australia High Commission to have our Visa evidenced.

What does that mean in plain english?

If it means the stamp in your passport, can I go in person to Australia House and get it done there and then?

Hi Cam & Sadra

Yes - "evidencing" means evidence of the visa being placed in your passport via pasting the visa label into it. Please see the link below and click on visa evidencing:

Visas and migration - Australian High Commission

If you prefer to go there in person, click on th link for Opening hours and public holdays.

Cheers

We went to Australia House to get the stamp in our passport. It did only open between 9am and 11 am ( we were there at 7am and waiting outside there was no-way that visa wasnt going in our passports) I think though from a friend who has just got her visa that the opening times have changed to open a little longer. They do have Australia Public Holidays off work.

Hi

I had an email from Australia House last week as I queried whether I should take our passports or not as we were in London that weekend.

They do have a counter service between 9am and 11am but prefer this service to be used for visa type emergencies etc. I know some people have taken their passports in person and had no problem but I have posted ours Royal Mail Special Delivery and its a 3 day door to door service.

Good luck - Joanne

You send it off and they put a beautiful sticker in it that takes up a full passport page - and when you see it you get a warm glow inside and a smile that lasts for months. You keep taking out your passport and looking at the sticker and think YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!! ...... then you panic and think of 1001 things you haven't yet done
