Hi

Where in the Uk are you?. When we had ours done we chose a centre that had radiology facilities and panel doctors in the same place, so everything done at the same time no need to go back and forth

When you book your meds try and get a panel doctor that does x-rays aswell then meds, x rays and bloods can go off together. Send by a courier then you can track them and you know they are there safe and sound.

What visa are you going on? did you do it online?

i did my meds in bournemouth at the poole road medical centre. they wanted me to have the x rays done first - which i did at the nuffield the week before. the poole road med ctr then forwarded all of the forms, bloods, etc using the courier service they have. it worked really well. let's just wait and see how they get on at the other end!

Hi there

I don't think there is any hard & fast rule that says the x-rays MUST be done first. I think it is morethe case that Panel Doctors tend to encourage it so that the PD will have seen the x-ray plates by the time you see him. That enables him to confirm that the x-rays are clear, which helps to reassure the visa-applicants, obviously.

Cheers

We applied online and had to travel to Manchester as they were our nearest med doctors who offer the online facility. Everything was done in the same building but we actually had our medicals done first and then went into another room and had our x.rays done! Both results were sent off together the next day! I guess it depends on whether you have to go somewhere else for the xrays, not all med doctors have xray facilities. So may prefer for you to have them done first. I guess the safest option is to to telephone the one you choose and ask them.

Sorry homer is sitting in front of the telly drinking duff ha ha.

If you send them by courier you can track them as the courier will give you a tracking number (this could be done on line) then they tell you who signed for them. They seem to be finalized really quick at the mo. for some anyway but we have had no news yet.

As for from meds to getting your visa thats the $64000 queston someone who applied the 1st sept on 175 got their visa in 7 weeks but sadly the rest of us are still waiting.

Hope this helps hang in there it will happen.

We got told to have our x-rays done first the idea is that they can be checked and you take them to your panel doctor who is the one who sends them off with your medical forms.

We had our meds done with the panel doctor in Northampton then later that day we had the xrays done at the private hospital. OH phoned to book xrays first and was told he needed an appointment with the doc first as that's the way Northampton work!

I had my meds done in May last year and the Dr (Ormerod)was great and particularly good with the kids. He treated Alex who was 11 very much like a young lady, respected her privacy etc., and Tom who was 7 was asked to help do his dads medical, counting toes, passing things etc., it very much helped relieve a bit of the tension (although had to do my BP twice I was so nervous!!). There was some dye in the vials that he took blood from - to this day Tom is convinced his dad is an alien 'cos it turned green and his mum is a princess 'cos I had blue blood.... oh and we all got a lollypop for being good lol

My friend went this year and it was a different Dr - don't know if they'd changed or he was standing in, but my friend said he was equally as pleasant. Nigel (my OH) says they're bound to be the amount of money we were parting with. lol

Fulwood Hall Hospital is a private hospital and like a hotel - they were pleasant and no problems, don't forget to take your passport photo's and your passports as they sign to say it's you (unless the form has changed). I won't say don't stress 'cos I did knowing how important they are, but they're really not invasive and nothing to worry about.
