official wobble no.2

1 week to packers arriving,

house not sold, flights booked, children starting to ask searching questions,

NO I mean NO Xmas shopping done (by me, Mrs 'all wrapped by November' usually!),

1 broken hand, 1 ear infection, 1 strained groin - only one of these does not relate to the rugby playing habits of my boys big & small!

have to pay NSW school fees, 2 weeks left at work, leaving party booked, cars sold,

my life is disappearing, and its blowing a chuffin' gale again!

still have found a home for ancient cats!

Some one tell me it'll all be worth it in a month, oz-siders tell me how much a decent aussie 'champagne' costs down the bottle shop... & not that bloomin' prince/duke/lord william brand -give me something!!

come on people.................................................

So you are just having a walk in the park at the moment???

Kidding................. It's orrible but worth it.

Once you get on that plane you'll be right..

I'm sat here now looking out at wall to wall sunshine over the sea,not bad for December:smile:

Hi McT's.

Take a deep breath and calm down!!! As one who has been there, done it, got the T shirt and been in Sydney for 15 months now I can categorically tell you it's all worth it!!!! Once you're on the 'plane and Oz-bound you'll be so excited (and sad too thinking of everyone you're leaving behind, but I won't dwell on that!) all the hard work, tears, stress, etc etc will just fade into the background and you'll be concentrating on your new life down under. All you're going through is just an unfortunate part of what needs to be done to get here......but I'm sure everyone else who is already down under will agree with me....it's so worth it!!

Take care and enjoy Christmas.....

And take a nice deep breath...

We're not in NSW, we're in Victoria but I can confirm that all the stress and aggro of getting here really is worth it. I love it here - the sunshine, the beach, the laid back lifestyle - well I'm certainly more laid back than I used to be!

Your wobbles are perfectly normal behaviour for someone about to move to the other side of the world so keep visiting poms, share your worries with us and let us help you through this bit!

This was me three weeks ago, I had major wobbles about doing it all by myself. Well, here I am in Melbourne, have found a house to rent, bought a car and a few basics like a fridge and an air mattress, and discovered how much easier things are here than in the UK. HONESTLY. Stuff gets done, people are nice and friendly and so welcoming. You'll be right, mate, as they say. And the weather even here in Melbourne is glorious. The last bit is definitely the worst, I thought I might die, what with the sadness and all the hassles, but hang on, it's true that about an hour after you're on the plane and no longer crying, a sense of adventure comes over you, and that carries you through the next exciting bit. Good luck!!
