Guest JoanneHattersley Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Well, yesterday I went to Centrelink in toowong and handed in all the documentation for the AOS for my Mum and Dad (CazBeckham). Now we have roughly 2 weeks to wait to find out if it has been accepted and then we pay them their money! Easy enough to do everything but the waiting drives you mad! I thought that I was done with all that waiting when I got here!!!! Nope, Mum and Dad are coming too!!!!!!!! If anyone is going through the CPV route, I am more than happy to answer questions as I know that CazBeckham will be too (Wont you Mum!) Will keep u updated!
Guest Gollywobbler Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Hi Jo I know exactly how you feel. By this stage, one is wondering whether the interminable waiting around will ever end. No worries, though. By this time next year your Parents will be comfortably settled in Oz and you'll be planning your first "proper" Australian Christmas together - the first of many to come. Shout the minute you get the magic letter authorising you to deposit the Bond, won't you? Cheers Gill

When you come out to visit Mum next you`ll have to come over to Brissie and see us!

All I know is by 14th Nov next year they HAVE to be here!! Thats good enough for me!!!
Guest JoanneHattersley Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 well, I had a call from Centrelink today to tell me that they had lost all the documents! They had the application form but nothing else. I now have to go back with all the original docs and go through it all again! There was me thinking it was going to be easy!
Guest Mrs Braveheart Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 OH NO :arghh: How annoying.... Eh what made you think it would be easy :biglaugh: Seriously tho how fustrating. Didnt take them long to lose them numptys. I hope you have extra copies & its not too much work for you. Janette
Guest Gollywobbler Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Hi Jo Naffing annoying. Unless the place burned to the ground at the weekend, they have no excuse whatsoever for losing the paperwork. :realmad: Especially not when your taxes are paying these cretins.:policeman: I TRUST they have said, Come in with the docs again whenever it would be convenient for you, Mrs Hatts." Not this make another appointment rubbish? I'd take them to the wire now that you've got the moral uper hand. They can post the letter asking you to deposit the bond by all means. BUT THEY CAN ALSO FAX IT TO YOU PRIOR TO POSTING. The Bank will accept the faxed copy, so you may be able to get the Bond lodged pretty quickly. Ring them every day and drum it into their heads that that letter must be signed and then faxed as well as posted. Cheers Gill

They are being faxed over to relevent person as we speak! Will tell Mum later
Guest Gollywobbler Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Hi Jo I'm delighted to hear that you had time to take the documents to Centrelink again. After this embarrassing-for-them blunder, hopefully they will give you priority processing. Cheers Gill
Guest JoanneHattersley Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Got the letter today and am going tomorrow to lodge the bond money for Mum and Dad (CazBeckham) AOS! I am so excited! I feel like they and I are on the home stretch now!
Guest Gollywobbler Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Hi Jo This has to be a World Record. FABULOUS news! Get the receipts from the Bank and take them straight to Centrelink if you can. Centrelink can then confirm to DIAC that the AoS end of things is complete. Today's news is another of the big milestones reached, so I'm getting really excited now! :jiggy: Cheers Gill :twitcy::jiggy:
Guest JoanneHattersley Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 I have my appointment for 10am tomorrow!!! My work is then done!
Guest Gollywobbler Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Errrm. Your work is then done?????????????????????????????:err: First you have to take the Bank receipts to Centrelink, then you'll need to chase Centrelink till you are sure that they have sent the OK to DIAC. This is how to chase Centrelink: :realmad: Cheers Gill xx:twitcy::twitcy:
Guest JoanneHattersley Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 you know what I mean!!!!!!!!
Guest JoanneHattersley Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Bond money lodged - Centrelink tomorrow to hand in other docs!
Guest Gollywobbler Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Well done Jo. Fings is moving in the right direction. It isn't really feasible to chase them till around 4th Jan but on that day and every day thereafter, chase them, lassie. "I miss my Mummy like crazy and she couldn't be with me for Christmas because her visa hasn't been granted yet..." "You said you were going to do this. Why haven't you done it?" :realmad: You can leave :notworthy: and :wubclub: for later. Cheers Gill
Guest JoanneHattersley Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 :notworthy: Documents handed into Centrelink in relation to the money I have paid for mum and dad to come over! My work is done! Merry Christmas All!
Guest JoanneHattersley Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 I had my letter from Centrelink this morning confirming that my AOS for Mr and Mrs CazBeckham (mum and dad!) has been approved! Yippee! Another hurdle crossed and finished with!! All they are waiting for now is meds to be finalised and money paid and they are done! PS Mum and Dad have no idea yet
Guest Pingpongpom Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 ..Great to hear things are moving along again & how exciting for you!..there will be celebrations in Brisbane very soon i hope.. Pingpong:cute:
Guest Gollywobbler Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Hi Jo Since Lorraine's advice to Caz suggests that they are really getting on top of the backlog with meds processing at the LCU, it might be worth Caz's while to give DIAC in London a ring to see whether their meds have been cleared yet? The contact details are here: dima_contact - Australian High Commission I am told that calls are answered quickly and that Caz would need their passports handy. If they cannot yet confirm the state of play on Caz & Baz's meds, they might know which date the LCU are now up to with these. I can smell their visa, now....!!!!! It id defo not far away!! Cheers Gill

Cheers Gill Hi Gill I did ring the DIAC and they say that the meds have arrived there and awaiting clearance but Perth would be the only people who would know how far down the line they are with the medicals. I informed my Agent about Joannes Centrelink letter who will in turn inform our CO. DIAC have also said that they would inform our CO of Centrelinks advice to go ahead and issue the visa - on meds clearance of course. So just a matter of waiting again. Hope you are well Caz
