Guest mandy1970 Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 For a while now I wanted to go but couldn't get the words out. WELL yesterday I was going to visit my Dad. I put on my heavy coat, hat, scarf and gloves. Opened the door and It was raining, freezing and windy. It just came out with it "Come on lets do it, lets go". I am still in shock!! After that we told my Dad who was happy for us and says do it while your young. He did and doesnt regret any of it. Phoned my Mum and she said the same. I think they are thinking of the holidays! On the other hand the in-laws never said anything good or bad but time will tell. We dont see them very much anyway. So now things are in motion. I am applying for my Oz passport, citizenship and passports for the kids and spouse visa for Hubby. I have quotes for removals and the dog and buyers or homes for most of our things. Since yesterday. It is still scary but now we are all excited and looking to the future. Thanks for all the advice. Look out Perth - Here we come!!!!! Hopefully OCT/NOV 08

Kabroom Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Hi Mandy, It was a bit like that with me as it had always been there but I could never say yes but then one day as you say it's 'come on let's do it' and even though I still have my wobblies once I make my mind up about biggies like this then there's no going back. Wendy
becky c Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 It's good that your family have taken it so well, I found telling my family the hardest bit, and so did my hubby. Now that you know you have their blessing you can enjoy all the planning and preparation so much more!! Good luck with everything, Bec x :wubclub:
ali Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 No stopping you Mandy once you've made a decision is there lol. Want to add my support, your parents sound like Gems Ali
Guest mandy1970 Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Thanks for all the support. I think the excitement is definately setting in now. I have just finished printing off citizenship forms for the kids so they can get Oz passports and all 22 pages of Hubbys visa forms. He is even in the process of stopping smoking for his new life. I think the plan for the weekend now is to start clearing out and sitting down to start going through all the forms. Better go and get started Mandy
