Guest chrissy63 Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Hi Exactly how much stuff are people taking with them. We have had a quote from PSS and that seems ok. But not sure if its best just to sell everything and buy new what have people done. Chrissy:)
Guest Kookaburra Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Hiya Chrissy, Are you going to be moving into a furnished place? we did for 12 weeks but still had to buy beds!! We brought a 20ft container out, sold nearly all our electrical items - wish we hadn't cos you can just change the plugs on most items. Bring lots of clothes as good quality ones are expensive. For the most part you can replace everything once you get here, just bring loads of money. :-)
Guest The Baggo's Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Hi, same a kookarubba! wish we had of brought everything. Our washing machine was only a few months old - all we had to do was swap plug! Fridges apparently don't travel well. Them $$ soon run away when you have to replace things! We brought over bedsteads just replaced matresses. Our Tv and dvd works through Austar so that is a bonus! Also bring UK plug extensions so you only need one adapter! nat x

I have 12 in use (Xmas lights/mobile chargers) and take any off my visitors when they come here. :twitcy: Must say we were gutted when customs took some of our decorations away - plastic pines cones!!!!!
Guest billy braveheart Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Hi We sold the lot with our house (which was lucky) but it all needed replacing anyways. We only brought over the kids computers etc, clothes & some personal stuff. Bought all new stuff when we arrived. It really does boil down to personal choice if all your furniture is relativley new I would bring it but all our stuff was nearly 10 years old. My friend brought her fridge freezer over just changed the plug it works fine. Janette
calNgary Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Hiya we didnt bring much ,no furniture just kitchen ware ,plastic plates and cups etc ,clothes and personal stuff. It was ideal as we could go and buy straight away instead of waiting for our shipment. In hindsight i wouldve brought my tumble dryer and fridge freezer too .hope this helps Cal x
ali Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 We brought everything and were glad we did but have also had to buy new stuff too as the house is bigger than the one we had in the uk. Ali
