Hi there guys. Just joined the forum and hoping to get some good advice and encouragement!

My partner Cat and I are hoping to escape grey, rainy Glasgow (and the UK in general). We've been looking around various places to move to (thought about Canada, but still to damp). So, we're planning a three week trip to Australia next year to have a look around with the intention of moving permanently if its to our taste.

We both run a small media company based just outside of Glasgow which we would like to re-locate with us. Also, I'm currently re-training as a clinical hypnotherapist and my partner Cat is about to undertake teacher training in Art and IT. I'm 41 and she's 35.

Does anyone have any thoughts on a) the best places to locate to that would provide us with access to a city, but I'd also prefer a semi-rural setting to live in. And b) given our occupations and respective ages can anyone advise on the complexity of the application process and how swift (or not), it is likely to be?

Many, many thanks in advance.

Alan

Hi Alan & Cat

Welcome to Poms In Oz.

Where in OZ are you thinking of settling. I can recommend Perth but i'm biased lol. We too are from Glasgow from the southside. I can't really help you with what visa route to take but im sure someone will be along to offer some advice. Just wanted to say hi to a fellow Scots
