Hmachanick 10 Posted April 13, 2012 Hi all Woke up to a fab email this morning on our 175 application requesting police clearances and medicals (hip hip hooray!) However there are a few questions based on the fact that I am 7 months pregnant... I have read on previous posts that you can ask your case officer to put your application on hold until baby is born, and then add him to the application (so as to avoid paying the extra $2000 for a baby visa) - has anyone done this? Secondly with regard to police clearances, can we apply for those now or do we need different ones as "parents" in 8 weeks time? My only concern is we have lived part of the last 10 years in South Africa, and the police clearances can take quite a while and we want to get down under asap, so I would love to start those now! Any help or advice would be a huge help! Sorry if these questions seem a bit silly. Thanks Heather
lebourvellec 738 Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) You need to inform your CO as soon as possible to the fact that you are pregnent. With the medical includes the Chest x-ray which in not recommended for pregnant woman, as it is not nessessary for medical reasons. And this late on in your pregnancy say you did get the xray done by the time your visa is granted you wouldnt be able to fly, and therefore the new baby will require Child 101 visa which can take 6 months to process, you would likely need to validate your visas before you got the Child 101 through. There is the option of applying onshore for the Child 801 visa but it costs £2960. Let your CO know that you are pregnent they will put the application on hold until the baby is born and you have the new baby's passport - this will cost nothing, and no extra PCC, as they are only valid for 1 year. All members of the application should wait to have the medical the same time as you and the baby also hold off getting the police check for a little longer, as your validation date for your visa is the earliest date of medicals or PCC. Although you want to move over to Australia quickly it is best to have the most amount of time to do it in, although your pregnancy maybe running fine just know anything can happen. Hmachanick 10 Posted April 13, 2012 Thanks very much lebourvellec, that really helps! We have let the case officer know I am pregnant. So you think we should wait with the pcc as well?
lebourvellec 738 Posted April 13, 2012 Yes i would - UK ones take about a week to come through - couldnt tell you about SA ones, if you find out a rough estimate of how long they take. Your babys passport will take about 2-3 weeks anyway, and the baby wont be able to get the medical until it has the passport, and medicals can take a 1 week to finalise by the time the blood work comes back. I would fill in the paper work so they are ready to go - but hold off until nearer the time.

One Question is given below As current PCC was issued on July 17th 2012, if we submit this PCC to CO Do we need to arrange everything so that we must enter australia before july17th 2013 which is not possible

Yes the consequence is that you wil have a reduced time for validation, unless you do them again.

lifeisbeautiful 10 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) Thanks lebourvellec, blossom79, Rupert @lebourvellec is it 1022 form ? @blossom79. just thought I'l ask people who already gone through same process, rather than posting generic, anyway Thanks for your comments. @Rupert Mate I have only taken PCC ( thought will reduce time for visa application and decision ), not the medicals ( was waiting for CO to be allocated ) Lifeisbeautiful Edited December 30, 2012 by lifeisbeautiful
