Guest guys&dolls Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Hi everyone Im sure this question has been asked before but has anyone used Britannia Removal's? Part of our Relocation package is that our removals are paid for but they use Britannia and after Tracey's post the other day we are quite concerned about using them but may not have a choice as that is who the Company OH is going to work for use. Any comments/feed back would be great. Thanks x
Guest kdal Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Hiya Yes I see that post too. Hopefully it was a one off!! Maybe speak to Britannia and say look we did hear some bad things can you please reassure me that everything is going to be ok!! That way they might be special instructions with your belongings saying 'please do not let this go wrong, as customer has heard a bad complaint about us' I would def have a word with the company and let them know what you heard and hopefully they will make sure they go that extra mile by looking after your belongings. Good luck
The Broughtons Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 I agree, giving them a quick phone call would do no harm whatsoever. Explain that you are a member of a forum full of people migrating to Australia and that on that forum they have received some bad publicity and you are concerned. They will then (hopefully) be of the thinking that if they do a great job for you, you will then post about the great experience it was using them for your removals. When the chap from John Mason came to quote us we explained about poms in oz. He had heard of the forum and said that they know a lot of migrants do share there experiences and it is important to them to get it all right. So a phone call may be a good way forward. Ensure that they understand what went wrong before and that you will not tolerate the same mistakes! Felicity:cute:
Guest Colin R Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 G'day, We used Britania to ship all our contents . The removals company that Britania used was Harrison and Rowley which are part of the group. The removals men arrived when they said it took from 8am to 4pm Monday through till Thurs to pack the house up. They were very good. They didnt stop for smoke breaks only cups of tea which we made and their lunch we moved last year through the Heatwave! We had a 40 ft High Cube container and about half a dozen breakages which considering the contents and the fact that it had been shipped half way round the world on a container ship through the Customs and out the otherside I dont think that this was bad! A great deal of the contents were ceramics and antique furniture and believe me I had quotes from other companies and they assessed my house contents and I wouldn't have let them handle a garden shed. So in answer to the thread about Britainia I or we didnt have a bad experience in fact they made the move easier. Like everything you have to take a chance someone may have had a bad experience but that dosent mean that a company should have their reputation destroyed by it.
ali Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 I agree, contact them and say you've heard some things which have concerned you and you'd like their reassurances and gaurentees (especially about the packers). Potentially, they could lose alot of business, 'cos if they're not up to scratch you can tell your new employer who may not use them again. Hopefully it was a one off. I know someone in Victoria had a problem with Wridgeways the agents at the Aus end - Wridgeways in Perth were absolutly brilliant for us.
Guest guys&dolls Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Thanks so much I dont know what we would do without this site and the help of everyone on it. We are going to give them a ring and see what they have to say, also mention this site and tell them it is in their best interests to do a good job  as word of mouth goes a long way in buisness. Thanks again everyone x
