  1. Been here almost 4 weeks now and have looked in my local Coles, Woolworths, IGA, Big W and Target stores and can't find yellow household dusters anywhere  Any suggestions as to where I might find some (Joondalup is my local centre but I'll travel to another suburb if necessary) or tell me what Aussies do their dusting with. So sad, but my in-laws arrive on Monday for a month and when they asked what we wanted brought over it was top of the list closely followed by UK foodstuffs that I know they can't bring. Doing my best to fit in but damn I miss Marks & Spencer's food hall (and Tesco 24)

Please tell me if Australia grows fields of the yellow oil seed stuff? It really does my head in :arghh: soar heads, runny nose, itchy eyes the lot - please tell me there is none of this blinkin annoying stuff over there!!! Another good reason to add to my list of Australia V's Scotland. Reenie x x x

    Yellow Gecko Films

I would just like to say that Yellow Gecko Films have produced a DVD about moving to Australia which is very well presented (No camcorder's!!) and very informative. We purchased this dvd from Jo & Dion (many thanks again) which arrived in top nick and on time. It's very good really as there are not a lot of dvd's out there that has the sort of info this one does. It's filmed in Queensland and looks lovely there, but it has information from immigration to food and white goods etc. GO ON GUY'S GIVE IT A GO ! :wubclub: Find Yellow Gecko in the members section. Helenx
  4. For any of you who don't know, "Yellow" is an Aussie sparkling white wine, quite cheap and easy to drink, and believe it or not, there is another sparkling wine from the same vinyard called "Pink" on account of it being, well, pink I suppose! Easy enough to follow so far? When we first arrived 5 months or so ago, wifey dearest had some "Yellow" at a party we were invited to and decided it was to her taste. So we have, on special occasions (such as when there's a Y in the day), bought "Yellow" and consumed it pretty quickly. However, last night we opened a bottle and discovered that it tasted like something we should have blamed the dog for. So those of you who have been here a while, which is normal? The acceptable fizzy wine? Or the horrible dog p**s?
  5. This is a long shot, but a couple of times we've been out in the garden late at night watching our frogs, and we've heard the weirdest sound coming from the trees. It's like a really deep and loud "wiiiiiiishhhhhh ooooohhhhh eurrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhh", a bit like darth vader on speed and really angry. The first time I heard it I was alone in the garden and really **** myself, thinking it was some sort of huge man eating snake(lol) But we heard it again last night, got the torches out, and our NQ book on wildlife....... and though we didn't see it, it flew about 100m between 2 trees, and are convinced now it was a yellow bellied glider, or some sort of very weird sounding possum/glider. Strangest thing I have ever heard in my life :biglaugh: Anyone got any ideas ? Allie xxx
  6. Dear People, I don't know what to do or where to turn. I think - no, am sure - that one someone here is playing around. You know trying 'other' sites, seeing how they fit and then making lick-bum comments to ingratiate themselves.I don't worry about it for myself, but what about the children? Please, think of the children. I don't feel it's fair to 'name names', but Muppetbro, you know who I mean... Yours concernedly*, Anon of South Australia. *Don't care if it's not a word! PS. Yes, before anyone gets serious, I am taking the mick!
