  1. Hi, High schools question this time. Has anyone got any experience of either of these high schools. Any info welcome Many thanks
  2. Wellington Point, Sat 25 June, 11am. The exact address for the sat navs is Main Road, Wellington Point, 4160. Just follow it all the way to the end until you reach the Pacific Ocean! As you drive down into the car park there is a childrens playground to your sharp left (under a huge fig tree and next to the man made beach). Suggest we meet there?. There are no BBQ's directly in the playground area but it is a short nip to one nearby. There is also a fish'n'chip shop for the less adventurous! Or a picnic is always an option. There is a nice long walk to King Island if anyone fancies it depending on weather / tidal timings etc. Hope to see you there
  3. Hi Moving over to Brisbane area soon and starting to refine down potential suburbs. We are keen on the Wellington Point/Ormiston/Cleveland area but I'm likely to be working in the CBD and so wondered about commute times. Can anyone advise please?

I was wondering if anyone meets up around this area as a family or alternatively mums and their kids whilst the hubbies are at work (I'm a stay at home mum)! Thanks.

    Advice please - Wellington

Hi, Looks like I have made my decision to go to Wellington to live. I have got the quote for the removal and opened a NZ bank account today. Would really appreciate any advice on where would be a good area to live, not too expensive, not too family orientated and not in the CBD. I am looking to be gone in about 2 - 3 weeks from Sydney so really need to start looking now. I have heard some wonderful things about Wellington and from what I have heard it seems the best place for me to live right now, I was originally born in Christchurch but that city does not suit me. Also if anyone has any advice regarding registering my car which will be shipped to Wellington, I would appreciate that too as I am unsure of the process. Thanks
  10. Hi I am new to this forum so forgive me if I make any mistakes!! My husband's company are Australian and he has been asked to work in their Brisbane office for 2 to 4 years, he is currently in Brisbane at the moment for a month working and looking at areas in his spare time! I joined him just for a week over half term and we really liked Cleveland and since I returned home my husband has seen Wellington Point and really likes it there too! I have been searching the web for information about the two areas my main concerns being how safe are they to live in? We have three children, ages 7, 9 and 13 so want to be in a child friendly safe environment. My husband would be starting his contract in September and me and the children would follow in December so its a few months off yet but I am keen to settle on an area so that I can begin contacting necessary schools and rental agents etc. Thank you!!

    Wellington Point, Redlands

Wellington Point, Redlands Wellington Point is a well spread out little town with that quiet back water village feel. Talking to locals, your considered to have "made it" if you live here. The house and land prices tend to be a little higher than surrounding areas, but well worth it. At the end of the Point, you have a parkland with a sandy beach, shallow waters and views over Moreton Bay looking a North Stradbroke island and various small islands. The water is nearly always calm. Very safe for young and old. There are two boat launching ramps next to the jetty, which is very popular for fishing off. We have seen dolphins swimming next to the jetty, almost with in touching distance. On a number of occasions we have witnessed weddings in the parkland (shows how beautiful the area is). The "village" has 1 hotel/pub and and about 10 cafe/restaurants and a few small shops all on the same section of the main road. The quality is fantastic. There is also the Redlands club, which has the feel of a workingmans club, but much cleaner, friendlier and has two restaurants. I could go on and on....... We love it here and this is where we are going to end up staying. We've been here 4 months and have found our "home". The Tuckers

    Quote to Wellington

Has anyone here got a quote before to go to Wellington. Still undecided but may end up there, it is there or back to the UK. For a 20ft container sole use it is 7,200 dollars which includes the shipping of the car and insurance for the car. Does this sound reasonable to anyone or does anyone know of other companies that may charge less, it is with Grace.
  13. Hi folks, Moving from Manly West to Wellington Point and wondered if there was anyone out there that fancied meeting up for coffee or a drink or two. Hubby, me and the two kids (6 & 9) have been in Oz for about 18 months now. Would love to hear from fellow peeps. Cheers Ginny
