  1. well its official !!,we have been picked to do the pilot episode for a new BBC show,called 'Wanted Down Under'.Fly from Heathrow to Brisbane on wednesday for a couple of weeks filming all courtesy of the BBC,I cant thank them enough as what an insight this should give us into the life we want to lead ,should hopefully be called for our medicals on our return so i guess its one way of passing time.Will let you all know how we get on when we return ,if anyone has any tips on keeping my 2 and 7 year olds occupied for the journey i would be most grateful cal x

Hi all, My hubby has an automotive paint spray skills test at Thatcham in Berkshire on wednesday, his company who are sponsiring him to go out on a 457 visa require this and I just wondered if anyone had been/going to this day course?? Any light shed on this would be great, he is panicking as hates the pressure of exams even though he is a confident and experienced painter! Thanks :unsure:

    I fly on Wednesday

    ... on my own with Singapore airlines and i'm going through numerous lists to make sure i have everything i need... I'm convinced i'm going to forget some important document and just wondering what people think i am likley to forget...... obviously i have my passport (with visa stamp) travel insurance pdf of flight tickets proof of aditional luggage with singapore driving license baggage inventory ...can't think of much else right now, as part of my visa i have to enrol with medicare to act as health insurance so i have that letter too... not sure if thats everything.... ...oh and have a copy of references from previous rentals and also 5+ no claims discount letter cheers

  7. Hi we are leaving the UK on tuesday and arriving in Geelong on wednesday. We are staying at a tourist park in Belmont for a few weeks until we get sorted with a rental. Is there anyone already in the area? We've got two young kids not yet at school age so I am looking for any toddler groups/play groups if there are any and also advice on good schools in the area and kindergarten provision. :jiggy: Can anyone help!!!?   10. Hi Guys, Do any of you fancy meeting for a drink next Wednesday (29th) after work. I guess the city would be most central for people. Was going to put it as a singles thing but hey we wont hold it against you if your not! I don't really know the bar's so any suggestions. I did go to a nice bar on Murray St. I am suggesting Belgian Beer Cafe(close to the city) - www.belgianbeer.com.au or The Vic - www.the-vic.com.au (Subiaco) Any other suggestions just let me know.   13. :wink: For those of you lovely peeps already in oz, what will you be doing next wednesday April 25th Anzac Day I will be down the pub playing the traditional game of 2up Australia and New Zealand commemorate the ANZAC Day holiday on 25 April every year to honour the bravery and sacrifice of the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC)who landed at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War 1. ANZAC Day is also a public holiday in Cook Islands, Niue, Samoa and Tonga. Its a public holiday not a bank holiday, don´t have bank holidays here in oz ...... only the bank workers have these along with postie days (postmen holiday) and picnic days for the construction workers :biggrin: along with public holiday June 11th (the queens birthday)

  15. Hi Everyone, We are currently homeless & jobless but not yet carless!! We are staying with the in-laws until we fly out to sunny Melbourne at 10am on Wednesday! I just wanted to thank everyone on the forum for all their info and help. I've found it really useful and a great source of support through all that waiting.
