Guest posted a topic in Visa ChatHi, i am new to this but could really really urgently need advise.....were do i start....ok....i was offered my ideal job in Syd in sept, we flew into Oz to finalise the offer etc but we were stopped at the border and questioned for hours on end and finally had our holiday visas cancelled as they considered us to be non tourists, we flew home. In the meantime the application started for the 457 visa....everything went well, sponsor approved, nomination approved, then our visa process started...its been a nightmare from start to finish, we done it all ourselves and provided everything under the sun we could provide.....evidance from 5 years of us being a couple living together etc....then we were told to provide a statement to waive an exclusion period, we were unaware we even had an exclusion period but apparently as our visas were cancelled at the border we automatically got a ban....so we provided compassionate and compelling reasons why it should be waived and a letter from my employer saying how much he needs me there....got an email back this morning saying my visa is approved but unfortunatly my partner did not meet the critera to have the exclusion period waived!!! What the hell!!!! Then they asked if i wanted to continue with my side and come and work etc i should let them know and they will withdraw my partner from the application.....how could this happen? How could i leave my fiance behind...and is there anything we can do? Any help would be greatly appreciated folks please im very confused.
Hi everyone, Well after posting on here only a few days ago regarding not going to Oz until 2015 our plans have totally changed. Hopefully in 12mths I'll be back home! Why put our lives on hold for the sake of a lump sum (as lovely as it would have been). Yes were not going to have a luxury lifestyle with loads of money to splash about. But to be honest family time and living life is far more important to us. Big deal if we cant afford tasting menus, bring on the family picnic at the park with homemade sandwiches. And if the only 'splashing' that we do is down at the beach....... I can't wait! So my question is (before I get more excitedly carried away by our future simple life) is where on earth do I start. I have read so many posts it's making me even more confused! I'm Australian, the children have citizenship by decent. So it's just my husband who needs a spouse visa. I've read bits about front loading applications although I have no idea what this is! If anyone can help at all I would be ever so grateful especially as it will be me sorting it out as the husband is just about to go away for over a month. AC
Hello everyone,I do hope someone out there can help us with a 457 Visa question.I am 43 years old, married with 2 children. We are very keen to leave the dismal shores of the UK for a new life in Queensland(if pos).I am a self employed Recruitment consultant(please dont scream all at once)with 15 years experience in Engineering and IT/Telecomms. 6 years ago I was offered a position in Sydney, however due to a family illness we decided not to go,big mistake I think!! We are very keen to have another go at it but have a small dillema. I am also a qualified Auto-Electrician.However I did not reach the points needed as I have not been in my trade for 18 years. The dillema is that if we sell our house, take the kids, dog all the way over there, would we have a chance of getting PR once there?Would living there give me some more points,or would be sent back in 4 years time.If anyone has ever had a similar dillema, could you please give us some positive news. There are a lot of confusing blogs. thanks:biggrin:
