visa processing after Medical, more than a year, CO says case under routine processing.
Shahbaz posted a topic in Visa Chat
Hi I applied for Australian skilled visa class 189 after EOI selection, my medical was done in Jan-2013 and all required documents were provided in Jan 2013, since medical I have been checking with my agent almost every month about progress and I get reply from CO that "it is under routine processing". It is more than a year but still no sign of my visa, can you advice me what should I do and how long a routine processing can be? is there is any way I can contact CO officer other than my agent. thanks. -

Hi, I applied for 489 family sponsred (Queensland's regional area) visa on 21 Jan and i am still to get a CO. As per DIAC it should take maximum of 10 weeks for priority4 class. If anybody has been granted CO or visa in between please share your thoughs and processings. Any pointers are really appreciated. Thanks in advance, Punj- 11 replies

Hello there, I have just spoken to a lovely lady at the High Commission in London who informed me that processing time for partner visa could be up to 5-7 months. EEEEK! I explained to her that I work in a profession where positions are few and far between and that one had come up. The employer has extended the closing date for me to sort out my visa, but only until the middle of May. I'm not sure if they would consider a 457, I was told that it would be 'preferable' to have a visa before applying. I have been married to my husband 4 years he is an Aus citizen, my son has dual citizenship and we are going for his aus passport in May. We have a solid application, so I'm guessing that it would be a straight forward case. Has anyone else been told this kind of processing time then had their visa granted sooner? The lady at the High Commission suggested that I submit my application as it is now (I am waiting for Aus fed police check to come back and 1 stat dec from Aus friend), then I will get assigned a Case Officer after 10 days and I can discuss with them. This sounds really quite reasonable, but I'd be gutted to miss out on this job. Any help would be appreciated! Claire :arghh:
