Hi everyone, This is my first time posting here after sooo long hours just browsing and learning from all of you guys. Me and my partner are on 457 visa now. He's a chef who has worked for 3 years on his 457 visa. Our first 6months with the visa we have to quit and get new employer who treat us better, and we've been with them for 2.5 years now. Since we got our visa before 18 april 2017, we only have to work for 2 years to apply for 186 visa (correct me if I'm wrong). Now the thing is now, my employer wants to sponsor us badly but they dont wanna use any agent, since it cost so much money and they dont trust anyone else with their paperwork. The first transition from our first employer to the next one, they took care of everything, they arrange everything through immi account, lodge everything themselves, next thing we know, we're ready to move. So based on this I think they're good with lodging this immi stuff eventho we're the first "visa people" they have in the restaurant. Do you think it would be alright for them to just apply themselves? Also, with the levy they also have to pay $3000 to sponsor us too, so if they do something wrong on their side they will lose lot of money as well. Question number 2 is, if I let them do the nomination first, and we also lodge our visa, let say the nomination got rejected, can we retract the visa application so our money wont go missing? Or should we just wait until we know for sure the nomination approved? Thanks before!
Ressa posted a topic in Business SponsoredWill be asked later on, for citizenship request, why we quit before 2 years of moral commitment , would it be a problem later ? thanks
Hi there, I lodged my PR in Feb this year (visa 186) and current processing time is 14-15 months. I am pregnant and due in May 2019, which would be the ‘15th month’ of visa processing so being realistic, there’s a chance I may not have PR by the time baby arrives. I’m in full time work (457) and plan to be up until I give birth. Will I be entitled to the 18 week Centrelink maternity leave pay if I don’t have PR? I meet the other eligibility requirements online. Will I also need to go for another medical examination after Feb 2019? I completed this in Feb this year and I hear they’re only valid for 12 months. If anyone has had a similar experience, it would be great to hear from you and understand what happens. Thanks!
Hi guys, I just want to ask what is the "go" with the expiry date for those supporting documents we have to provide for visa application. I submitted my Nomination for visa 186 DE back in 9/2017 and have not heard anything (so obvious coz it has been 6 months only, and they are only processing application up to March 2017). However, I already prepared all other documents for my visa application, such as: Certificate for Professional Year for accounting, this will be expired on 29/05/2019 IELTs will expire on 24/10/2018 Skills assessment will expire on 15/06/2018 Overseas Police Check will expire in 12 months AFP check will expire in 12 months Going by that timeline, I assume that I will have to submit my visa application by June 2018 as IMMI said supporting documents must be "valid at the time of lodgement". This also has been confirmed by my agent. Is there anyone is the same situation as myself and what would you do in this case. Please let me know your thoughts, thanks
