  1. Hi there. I am trying to find a place to live which is near a community (but not an estate), so I don't feel too cut off. We have two young children who will be going to school in the Palmwoods/Chevallum area and we have family in Nambour and Caloundra - so trying to find a happy medium! Please, does anyone know what any of the following are like: Mooloolah Valley Forest Glen Palmwoods Nambour Woombye Buderim We will be renting for a while until we find our feet. Thanks for any advice! :-) Vics

  3. :arghh:Hi Folks, been a member of this site for a while now but just as an observer watching peoples life changing decisions. Now it seems to me my turn as i've just been offered a job on a 457 and it's just went a bit scary. i'm looking for advice about nice suburbs around SE and suggestions for schools etc for my 2 young boys. I've got so many questions but this will get me started, thanks in advance for any suggestions and advice.
  4. Hi All, We have put a couple of threads out there in the past regarding life in Brisbane’s suburbs and the feedback helped us a lot. We are due back in Brissie at Easter which we hope will be our final reccy but I was hoping somebody could help us with one extra bit of info. We ( me, wife and kids 11,9 & 6 ) are going to look at perhaps a dozen or so suburbs all within about 30-35 mins from the CBD but we couldn’t find much about whether any of the suburbs had like a village centre with a friendly community feel to it. I know that most suburbs have, or are close to some shops / restaurants but these seem to be more like retail park type places that you would drive to ( I know you need these types of places though for practicality ). I may be asking for too much but if there are any pointers from the PIO community, it will be much appreciated. PS – If Cal / Gary are out there….loved your show and hope things continue to be good for you guys… Did you move yet ?? Cheers - Iain H :wideeyed:
  5. Hi, My family, with two small children, is migrating to Sydney next year. Could anyone suggest family friendly suburbs with a village feel, on a trainline, max 45 min from the CBD, that are still affordable? Our budget is max. $800 000. Thanks!
  6. Derbyshire Constabulary has launched a murder inquiry after the body of a man was found in a graveyard in South Normanton. The 30-year-old man was found by a member of the public at St Michael's Church, Church Street, at about 5.45am this morning (Sunday, November 9). Officers have closed the church and cordoned off the scene while the investigation continues. Detective Chief Inspector Sandra Barker said: "We are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information, to contact the police. "We appreciate the support of the local community and are grateful to those people who have already come forward with information. "A Remembrance Day service, which was due to be held at the church this morning, was canceled following the discovery of the man's body. We apologize to those people who had been due to attend the service but I am sure residents appreciate that the cancellation was necessary in order to investigate this death." Hope they hurry up with my visa
