Hi, can anyone advise me urgently on my query: I am applying for MBA from Australian University in Melbourne and my visa has to be filled. In my funding for the course my brother who is in USA is partly acting as sponsorship. My query is: From where dose he need to get the letter for affedavit - is it from any notarization agent or he has to get it from "Justice of Peace" itself. Also dose he need to give his IT return for 3 years or payslip of the recent months would do? Please do advice me at the earliest. Thanks, Sweta

It has always been a dream of ours to live in Australia for a few years so we are very excited. However my pratical head has taken over and I have no idea how I would find a school for my son who is nearly 6. My husbands company (He would be on secondment for 2 years from the UK) would like him to start this summer but the AU school year starts in January so DS would be starting mid school year. He is currently in Yr 1 here in the UK. Who do I contact to find out about schools. Does anyone kinow the good primary schools in Brisbane. Can you start at a school mid school year and will that not be very hard for my son in terms of making friends etc. Once we have accepted the job we will be given a relocation advsor who will help with finding a house etc but I dod not think I can make a final decsion on the move untill I know what we will do about school. Any advice would be useful including what it is like to live in Brisbane with young children (Also have 2yr old twins!!!!!) Are we mad to think of moving abroad with three young children!!!!! Kate

Hi Everyone I Have been lurking around the forum for a while now as we have had our 175 visas for almost 3 years! One thing and another have kept us making the move, most recently a new baby! - Well a year ago already. My hubby has now been offered an amazing opportunity in Melbourne, fabulous relocation package and we are all set to go! This has happened within the last month so all been so quick! Our one problem now is we don't have the visa for my youngest and have been told it could take 7-8 months? We've also told she may be able to go in on a tourist visa until her visa is granted. The company taking us over in Oz is going to apply for the child visa for us I just wanted to see if anyone had had a similar experience and could offer any advice? We are looking at leaving end of June at the latest. Thanks Faye

Have sent a black mail to aspc@, found they are now working with 17th Feb, 2011 application. That means i have already passed their timeline. Some people applied 2011 assigned CO already. Is it normal? I guess something is going wrong in my procedure. I even tried to send a email enqury by post lodgement form at 23th Feb, 2011 still no reply from them. Anything i can do, at this time. Hi everybody I have been a keen follower of this site for some time - it is fantastic!! This is my first post and it is quite any urgent matter as I only have 8days left so any help/advice will be much appreciated!! I am working in regional WA and after much negoiations my employers agreed to sponsor me. My employers decided not to use a migration agent although it was my preferecne to use one,so we done the application ourselves and the SBS was approved, then my boss received a call from DIAC saying that as they had put the position of '"Finance Officer" on the app and it was not on the SOL that they where going to refuse the nominaton and my visa unless we withdrew our application. So we now have withdrawn both applications and as my 2nd year WHV expired on 20th Oct i only have until 17th Nov to apply for a new visa onshore or i will have to leave the country by Dec 3rd which i do not want to do. Basically what i need to know is if i can reapply for the 457 under a different title as in Office Manager as i have previously worked in this position for 2 years? If not can any of you advise me what is my best route to take?? HERE'S HOPING FOR A MIRCALE X

:arghh:Hiya, I am a single mum of 41 years and have 4 year son, I would like to ask a few questions relating to the new skilled visa list for Australia. Firstly I would like to tell you a little about myself to assist you in my questions. I took a 2 year course when I was 16 in Hairdressing ( city & guilds, passed with credits in all areas ).When I completed the course my family moved to a different area and I then took a position in an office and learnt via on the job training to be a credit controller, Of which i have continued since 18 to 41 years. I would really like to move to Australia with my son, but my occupation does not appear on the list. Do you think that it would be possible to re training to one of the occupations on the list to enable me to apply with the time frame still available to me, 4 years I believe. I am currently looking at courses, have you any suggestions.? Can you advise me of what maybe my best my successful options Kind regards:v_SPIN:

Advice Urgently needed - children flying alone back to the UK & worried about Volcano
Guest posted a topic in Aussie Chat
Hi all I am after some advice.... my 2 step children (14 and 16) are flying back to the UK to visit their Dad and the family in a few weeks and I am getting increasingly worried that the ash does not seemed to have disappeared! I have been waiting for it all to die down before I got travel insurance as the tickets were booked after the first one. My concern is this... they leave Sydney fine and something happens with the ash and they are stranded in Dubai for days on their own. They are far too young to be left in the airport. Emirates said I can fill out an unaccompanied minor form which means they will be escorted which is fine if they were just having a normal transfer - but they will not fly them straight back here. I hvae been told by my travel agent and 2 insurance companies today that all policies now do not cover volcanoes as they are an act of god!!! Great! Has anyone got any ideas or advice? Thanks in advance xx -
I am from Malaysia. Hence, i am under assessment level 1 and studying as a pharmacist (under subclass 573). Last year, i am supposed to graduate at the end of last year. However, I failed and hence, i am required to go back at the end of the year around september 2010 to finish the course at december 2010. However, i plan to go back earlier. Hence, i plan to take up a 10 week english course which will commence on june 7. I am just wondering does taking up a 10 week english course (which starts on june 7) helps me to go back to australia earlier? should i apply two seperate visas or just a single visa under subclass 573? how should i go around with the application of visa? some ppl had advised me that i can go back as early as early june without applying for the english course (which means that applying for student visa with the CoE of the pharmacy course i am about to repeat on september 15 is suffice to get me back early) Is this true? Since i am under assessment level 1 and my status in the immigration department is considered as deferred (if i am not mistaken, it is considered as due to compassionate reason in my case), do i still need to submit financial evidence when I apply for the student visa? If i do need to submit one, what should i submit and what should be included in there? I am in malaysia atm and hence, i am not in Australia atm. Please help!!!!

Hi everyone. I know this is a bit cheeky, but I am in dire need of a favour. I am currently in Adelaide till this Thursday 13th May. I have to fly back to the Uk to finish a work contract that is still running and cannot change my flight etc. The problem I have is that my sea container that I shipped from the Uk hasn't cleared customs yet due to the shipping agent in the UK not getting his butt in gear. Therefore I will have to leave before I can take delivery of my container. I have arranged storage up at Port Adelaide and was wondering if anyone knows of a company who could collect and unload my container into the storage facility for me. I am desperate to get something organised before I depart on Thurs. Ant suggestions would be greatly welcomed... PM me to contact me Cheers Ian Chidgey

Dear all I need your help as soon as possible because time is running the new SOL will be introduced on July. I work as an admin. Assistant for almost 10 years and aware of all the administrative aspects, I have seen an migration agent he checked my CV and advised me to apply but I didn’t want to continue with him he was damn greedy. Anyway he accomplished the first step (Assessment Authority) with Vocational Education Teacher –non-trade ASCO 2422-11. Frankly, I don’t know based on what he decided that I’m eligible for migration or why he did choose this occupation, but this my situation now. I have tried to continue the procedures of migration myself but I’m damn afraid of mistakes, anyway I had searched my nominated occupation and I found it only in the off-list of NT. My questions are: 1- What does off-list mean? 2- Am I eligible for NT? If so which type of visa? 176 or 475? 3- What am I suppose to do now? I’m dying for Australia. 4- If I’m eligible for NT, Must I show them my financial situation? I have no bank account. 5- Is there a hope for me? Please there is no time I know that my nominated occupation will be realesed from the new SOL so I have few days to apply for the sponsorship if I’m eligible. I studied letreature my major was Frensh Vocational Education Teacher - ASCO 2422-11 positive assessment from VETASSESS Ielts 6.5 overall (speaking 6, Listening 6, reading 7, and writing 6) Please reply me as soon as possible so I can lodge my application before the new SOL Thanks for all:arghh:

My partner Kim and I have found full time work in Sydney and have been flitting between friends house's, north and south for a couple of months. Before that we were living with Kim's parents in Melbourne. We are now desparate to locate a three or four bed house, with garden, in Sutherland Shire district and have full bond and a couple of months rent available upfront. Happy to pay up to c.$600 or $650 pw for the right property We have a well dehaved dog also (she can live outdoors, that's the dog, not Kim), but no kids. Seeking decent accommodation and hoping to move in quickly. Can anyone suggest anything other than the norm, i.e. the usual real estate agents ? Or do you know of someone that is looking to exit a lease that we can take over ? Or has a spare house or two and wants to rent one out ? lol Also, can anyone recommend any short term stays aside from rental in that area, just as a very short term measure ? many thanks !!!! Dave :err:
