  1. We are planning to move into unfurnished accommodation once our belongings arrive in Oz. Can anyone tell me whether it is likely to have curtains/blinds fitted or not?
  2. hi guys Just wanted to see if anyone was interested in a 3 bed house in The Gap - tenant arrive back from travels end of March. Great house ony 500 p week - bargain as we only took it for 7 months but now have a great opportunity up the coast and want to go ASAP. You can walk to the shopping centre and bus stops and park for kids. 15 min into town out of rush hr. The kids all ride on their bikes around here, family friendly, lovely neighbours and we wouldn't want to leave except we have decided we want a coastal lifestyle. Would be great starting point. We rented white goods etc while we were waiting for our belongings and still worked out loads cheaper than a furnished app. Amazing pool and a backyard to play in. Please contact me ASAP if you are interested and I can mail you some pics. owners have been lovely and really would not want to leave them in the lurch - great opportunity . Let me know if you have any further questions thanks Faye

I am trying to decide if we should ship our furniture or not. We will be renting out our home here in Ireland so can rent it furnished if we decide not to bring our furniture. Thanks in advance! 9. i have been struggling to find anywhere that rents furnished homes around the albany area, we did find one for $300 a week for 3 month fully furnished, 3 beds,2 bathrooms and 2 carports spaces but the owner had removed the listing and is now charging per week at silly rates we are trying to find furnished because we can simply move right in and then buy as and when without the stress of getting 3 beds the second we land any advise would be very helpful if anyone else has had this dilema craig
  10. I am having to move out of my rental as we have bought a house elsewhere and cannot afford to pay mortgage and rent. The rental is in the lovely new Anchorage Estate in Rockingham which is close to everything - 10 minutes walk from the beach (2 mins in the car), Rockingham shopping centre and within easy reach of both the Northerly and Southerly suburbs of South Perth. It is managed by Century 21 in Rockingham. It is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom architect designed house with remote control double garage, laundry, theatre room, enormous living area with kitchen, double size showers in the master ensuite and the bathrom, 2 outside taps for washing your car, alfresco, mezzamine, etc. We are paying $410 per week and it has only just gone up to this this month so i would imagine that it will stay the same. If you require any further information or photos just private message me and i will provide the info. It will be available any time in October to suit yourselves. Debbie :cute:
  11. Stupid question probably but when I'm looking at house rentals on domain or realestate.com.au are they usually furnished or not, I'm guessing not but most show the rooms with furniture in them. We're shipping ours so wanted confirmation. Cheers, freebo
  12. I'm due to head out to Brisbane for a year soon. My contract is one year long and I'm keeping my house in the UK. Any advice/opinions on the following would be appreciated: Should I rent furnished or unfurnished? Do furnished homes in Australia normally come with a TV? Are these TVs normally flatscreen and HD (so I can use my PS3)? What sort of additional premium can I expect for a furnished home? If I rent unfurnished, how quickly, easily and cheaply can I buy furniture? Obviously I don't want to spend too much money for the sake of 12 months. Where can I get decent cheap furniture from? Do some rentals do white goods only? What term/phrase is used for this? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
  13. Hi All at POI Wondering if anyone can assist. Hoping to move to WA and wondered what if any white goods you get with an unfurnished rental? I believe that the cooker comes with the property but unsure about the rest. If it comes without, has anyone bought fridge etc and how long to get it delivered? Karen & Colin.
  14. I am a bit worried getting a rental in january..might be hard is most of australia goes on holiday. does anyone have any experience of finding a rental in perth during january? from start to completion how long does it take to get the keys to a property? we are hoping for an area like swanbourne or inglewood etc. somewhere with a school (that has no waiting list). we'll have a passport and a bank account setup by then, we are hoping this is all we need (although the bank account will show a uk address but be from an australian bank) I have read in places we need to score "points" or something to get a rental.
  15. Hi We will be looking for an unfurnished 4 x 2 in Woodvale mid Feb. At the moment we are living in a furnished in Joondalup. We are a clean respectable family and would treat the house as our own and look after it well. By then we will have our Golden Retriever with us who lives outside in the UK and will do the same here. 17. We are moving to Sydney at the end of September for 2 years. Not sure at the moment whether to ship/store furniture. Are most places to rent furnished or unfurnished ? If unfurnished, who are good to ship with and what sort of cost would you be looking at for a 1 bed house move ? If furnished, any idea of storage costs in the UK ? Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Unfurnished Houses in Oz

Hi Guys, Does anyone know what is included in an unfurnished house. Are all the kitchen appliances ie: fridge, cooker and hob, dishwasher supplied in the kitchen and also is there anything in the utility room ie washing machine and tumble drier? Going to rent unfurnished place and just buy a few bits to tide us over until our container arrives. I know you can rent white goods and furniture so could always do that if we are short of a few essentials. But would great to know what to expect before we get there! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards Alison x
