  1. On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me.... Twelve cross-eyed emus, Eleven limping lizards, Ten noisy numbats, Nine fat koalas, Eight frill-necked lizards, Seven wobbly wombats, Six cackling cockies, Five pink galahs, Four kangaroos Three magpies, Two lyrebirds And a kookaburra in a gum tree So that's the Aussie version, now for the PIO version...here we go...... On the first day of crimbo my true love sent to me, A visa to live in Aussie
  2. Well it's a problem of our making so I'm not complaining but the thought of packing and unpacking again makes me want to sit down at the computer on PIO, thereby avoiding ALL important and relevant tasks that will get us to our final destination. WTF is wrong with me, no urgency at all. Anyway whilst I'm here shall I tell you about the curtains I've made and the bargain bathroom I got on ebay? OOOOOh I also got some fantastic tiles for the bathroom...and...er yes yes I am packing boxes, no love I'm not on the computer. Gotta go :policeman:
  3. :cute: Hi everyone, my name is katie and i want to make new freinds with other girls who are moving to queensland, does anyone know what the schools are like, or what its like to live over there. . . . . . . .
  4. Hello! I was wondering if anyone could assist me with a 12 month tourist Visa question. My partners de facto visa was rejected due to us not having lived together officially for 12 months so we have decided to go to Aus on a 12 month tourist Visa and then return once we have fulfilled the 12 month requirement and re-apply. We have receieved an email reuesting the below nfo: * Letter of support and Bank Statements from your Australian contact. - a letter of support from the family member or friend in Australia named on your application form, stating their relationship to you, the level of support they are willing to offer and over what period of your proposed stay in Australia. - official bank statements from your family member(s) or friend(s) in Australia, showing the name of the account holder, all transactions for the last three months and the final account balance. Could you assist as to what I could write on this letter? I just don't want this opportunity ruined. Also, my partner has sold his house he has substantial money to cover his expenses whilst abroad. My friend in Australia doesnt really wat to provide theirbank statements which is understandbale...would this effect the application? I am an Australian citizen and have a job offer letter from the company I work for ... would this be sufficient to prove that I could support my partner in the event of this requirement? I was a little apprehensive about me providing these details as we are applying for a tourist Visa and we are travelling as partners (with me being Australian).... Thanks!! B

    Twelve days in Sydney!!!!

Well here we are! .... finally here in Sydney! ...and you guessed it, it was pouring down with rain AND cold when we arrived! .. which was 6am a week last thursday. We arrived at the house to discover the SIL (henceforth known as the WITCH!!!) had left the house open and the keys on the kitchen counter ...... well ..to cut a VERY long story short ...2 GALLONS of bleach later a FULL MEGA large skip of rubbish later, days and DAYS of scrubbing and cleaning and now that we have actually bought a bed to sleep in ...... I am beginning to feel like we are in a house not a muck midden! Our next door neighbours have been stars! they lent us bedding two chairs a table ...some crockery ...but most important of all they made us feel welcome. Arriving after such a long flight to ..... well less then nothing, wasnt the best of starts! John has started his new job ...so I am in the house all alone feeling a bit mismog but DETERMINED to sort things out and settle in as quickly as possible. It will be good to see something other than the nearest supermarket ..and I am hoping that as I get braver I will drive further than to the local train station to drop John off in the mornings! :cute:
