  1. We have already applied to take 2 cars to Perth when we move there and we have import licences for each car. Does anyone know if a twin axle boat trailer (large enough to take a 24 foot boat) would also need an import licence? We know that there is a limit on the number of vehicles you can import and you can only take one vehicle per person and we wondered if we are now up to our maximum limit if a trailer is classed as another vehicle. If anyone has any information about this, it would be really helpful. Many thanks Ali and Chris

    Camping trailer

Just wondering what the laws are in Aus (WA more so) about pulling some trailers? We've bought a new one in the UK and wanted to know if it's something worth bringing with us in the container (if indeed it's allowed!). We would like to do camping in Perth and so having the trailer would be great for getting away occasionally. Cheers
  6. I have a box trailer I would like to take but I notice that you have to get approval like you do a car, its only a box trailer that you don't even register, although I do know you have to register them in NSW. The thing is you see it all comes apart into pieces and I thought I could have it packed with the furniture. What does anyone think, has anyone taken a small trailer, they are very popular in Australia and it is dead handy.
  7. Need some suggestions please. We are moving to Adelaide in June but we have decided to Land in Sydney, pop up to see some friends in Newcastle and then drive round the Great Ocean road to Adelaide. Now, we are expecting that all to take a couple of weeks and when we land in Sydney we will also have 8 suitcases plus hand baggage as their are four of us each with 50kg baggage allowance (thanks emirates) So my dilemma is whether we hire a minibus and use motels on the journey or a campervan which is more expensive but saves the motels, and then on yesterday's wanted down under I noticed when they arrived they had a hire car and trailer and hadn't even thought of that as an option (anyone done that??) So does anyone have any other suggestions or comments on my options to help me narrow things down?? Daniel
