Hi I am looking for some advice on the best places to relocate with my family. There is myself ,my OH, daughters aged 21 and 17 years, sons of 7 and 8 years. So we need an area that has lots of opportunities for a machine tool fitter, schools, colleges and university. We have state nomination for Queensland and are currently awaiting our visa 175 which hopefully will arrive in the next month or two. TIME LINE : appointed an agent Jan 2009 , TRA and application received April 2009, C0 Sept 2011, police checks and meds finalised Oct 2011 , awaiting visa :jiggy:

:err: Hi everyone Can anyone tell me if tools are more expensive in Oz as a work colleague who has been there said tools cost a lot more even 2nd hand ones :shocked: :idea:So I was thinking about buying new in the UK and selling my old tools in Oz. I'm a carpenter so have lots of tools to take unless I sell them before I go.:confused: Passed my Vettasses and sent off for Visa in Sept 10,so guess I've got a while to make a decision. :unsure: thanks.

I need to ship 2 tool boxes, some tools total weight might be about 30 kg. Some items very long, about 1.5 m, but thin rods, not heavy but long. I plan to move back in March 2011, and how much it can cost, and how long usually takes? I don't want to stay in the UK without tools.

How much has it cost other people to send there tool boxs? I have a SNAP-ON KRA4813D and top box to match. They bolt together and it on wheels. W53' by 19.5' and 53' inches high when bolted together. Any ideas of who to ask and who is best? Garry

Sorry boring question alert! Have spent all day cleaning my work tools. Plumber gas fitter. How clean have these got to be to satisfy oz customs? Its doing my head in. Thanks for any help in advance.

After posting on here a few weeks ago looking for a shipping compnay to ship my roll cab i got a couple of leads. after contacting the companies (one by phone one by e-mail) i only recived a reply from one quoting me a price but nothing after that. Has anyone got any shipping companies to recommend. (shipping a snap-on roll cab 1m,1m,50cms approx 30 stone) cheers

i am looking for quotes to get my tool box/roll cab shipped over to oz. i was wondering if anyone had any recomendations of shipping companies, i have e-mailed a couple of companies but the largest stuff they do are things like tv's any pointers from people who have done this would be much appreciated p.s my roll cab is 1m high ,1m long by 50cm deep. cheers lee

Hi Just wondering what tools OH has to take with him for the vetassess practical-general electrician.He has a lot of tools but claims he needs to get other stuff,he is on a spending spree on e-bay while I am hoping to get to Australia with some money left in the bank(lol)Please help me to get him off e-bay.
