It says he is in Melbourne, I think it may be a repeat tho???? Channel 4.
  2. Its quiet on PIO tonight. The usual reprobates seem to be missing. Is that because everyone else is out having a life? Or watching Im a Celebrity . . . . . . . :dull: And I think the Ozzies are having a lie in . . . Im working . . . . . . . on the most comprehensively boring spreadsheet known to man :dull::dull::dull: If you could be anywhere at this moment in time, where would you be and what would you be doing . . . . ? (Keep it clean :laugh:)
  3. Checked out of the serviced apartment for good tonight. I'll miss seeing the Manly ferry come and go. Our stuff is in Sydney but still waiting on customs...we'll be managing with next to nothing for a week or so. Sleeping with kids blankets and eating take out for the most part. It's been a tough but good month.
  4. Joolya had a state engagement with the Queen this evening and seemed to be wearing a disco ball? Who the heck gives her fashion advice?
  5. Go Australia, go you good thing:jiggy:
  6. Sydney OzSpurs currently meet at: Triple Ace Bar 198 Elizabeth Street Corner of Elizabeth & Campbell, nr Central Stn (02) 9212 1911 For the latest details of meet-ups and live games make sure you check out the OzSpurs Forum. It's the next best thing to being at WHL! Wear a shirt if you've got one & bring your singing voice.
  7. If you are a Spurs fan that is, or even maybe an Everton fan for one night only! I expect most Spurs fans know this already, but if you don't, this is where Spurs fans go! Some to watch the game, some to drink and watch the game, some to drink, sing & watch the game. and all for a good time, even if we lose!

Flying to Perth tonight - OMG!!

I can't believe today is finally here and we are flying to our new life down under this evening. I really cannot describe how I am feeling at the moment but Im hoping the excitement kicks in when we are on the plane. Good luck to all those awaiting their visas you time will come Gillian xx:hug:
  11. Someone recommended it on another post. I swam at Redleaf and my friend Cynthia wanted to meet me at the Icebergs. She lives at Bondi on the same road where I parked although I did not know it. I was just looking for a place where I could park for free. I walked along the coastal path in the dark - luckily there was a full moon which made made the view over Bondi spectacular with the waves crashing and foaming. The club itself has a fantastic location looking out over Bondi Beach. It must be a lovely spot to sit out on the balcony overlooking the pool and the beach beyond. I signed in as a visitor - all you need is a drivers' licence which they scan in on a little machine - oh and you MUST live outside the 5k limit. Sometimes in those cases they will get a member to sign you in though. Or you can join on the spot. $50 for Icebergs which is dearer than most but I noticed that steak and chips is $15 for visitors & $10 for members I had a chat to the doorman - asked him if he is a local? Yes, born and bred. 'It must be something to have been born in Heaven', I said. He was telling me how to eat oysters - I've never tried them. I was chatting to the young ladies on the bar too, asking them the same questions, 'are you local?, where is your favourite beach?' (yes, Tamarama or Clovelly because Bondi gets too crowded.) It's easy to get on with people really. If I go a few more times they'll recognize me. So, join a club, get talking to the staff, become a 'local'!

    Out in Paddo tonight.

I did not intend to but my friend K rang me so I got a cab up to Oxford St to meet her. Went to Paddo Inn, Paddo Arms & Woolahra Hotel - $15 for the cab and I decided to walk home to Surry Hills. Got talking to some young Aussie blokes who were cheering on Tigers v St George. Gave one my card for OzSpurs although he goes for Liverpool. Bit embarrassing in the Woolahra when the doorman told me that my friend was too drunk. I'd just ordered another 'shout', only got to drink half of mine and the barmaid took the whole of hers back behind the bar - no bloody refund. Not a bad walk to Surry Hills down Moore Park Road - my friend lives opposite the Sydney Football Stadium (which is next to the SCG.) Cut across Anzac Parade & South Dowling St into McElhone Place which is a cute little alley where officers used to live from Victoria Barracks (I think) Paddo & Surry Hills are inner city 'burbs, one or two K from the CBD, trendy places to live, plenty of pubs, restaurants, shops etc. It reminds me of parts of London really so if you if you like London, you'll like Sydney!
  13. Okay can we take Geelong on tonight, or are we bound for tears:cry:
  14. Fantastic location just above the beach, bar was like a Pommie pub on New Year's Eve. Failed to win, AGAIN. If the lady selling the tickets had come to me before the blokes on the other table I'd have been a winner. I asked her if I would still keep my prize even though I was English! Good tucker in there too. Schooner of Coopers Green $5.60. Kids welcome in the bar too. I'm not a member, just signed in as I'm outside the 5 kilometre limit, living in Surry Hills. They have a members' badge draw too so it's worth joining if you go regularly.
  15. I will be watching this tonight. Not sure why, I just feel the need to keep updated with what is going on in this terrible story. I could go on and on about the rights and wrongs of how this happened, at the end of the day a little girl is missing and its just so sad. When you see the Jaycee Dougards and other kidnapped and captive children, it just makes you wonder will Maddie appear again in years to come?

  24. Hi All Just a quick reminder that there is a PIO meet tonight (3rd Sept) at 7pm at the Buderim Tavern, Buderim (of course). As you enter the car park from the main road go into the Tavern by the doors on the right hand side of the building (Sports Bar - but no pokies, called sports bar because it has a couple of pool tables. Go straight through to the back room (enclosed verandah) and there will be a table for us which would seat about 20 persons and also bar menus on the table (bar food very good) When you enter the Tavern from the main road and there is no parking spaces, turn right, then left at the end, down the slope to the overflow carpark. Park up then walk up the stairs at the back. Turn left at the top of the stairs and into the sports bar. Hope to see many of you there (children also welcome) Caz & Barry Beckham - (Posh 'n' Becks to you lot!!)
