  2. Hi everyone, I have just read Angel Cake, and Ali(moderator) has just also made a new thread about this book I suggested to her. Any of you who are interested the author is above with the book title. Cathy Cassidy also has a website, so if you are also interested in her other books which include some moving, just visit her website. And if you want to read the book and finish, just give me feedback and tell me how the book was. I am sure you will love it. From Princessoftheworld20 :wink:
  3. OK , so this is my first post and really wanted some opinions on my dilemma!! I am on a 457 Visa in the General Accountant category, my year is nearly up which I am going to include for 5 points for my permanent Visa at the start of January. My company pays my health insurance and I am 6 weeks pregnant I claimed from the health insurance yesterday and they forwarded the claim to my employer and told them I was pregnant without my permission!! Today I received a letter from my Manager stating that they are changing my job title to Accounts payable officer and my duties have been changed and they will need have contacted immigration! I have not changed my job in any way and have been doing the same duties and role for the last year and half and this is not changing any time soon. My manager said their reason for doing this was because of the restructuring of the company. I’m worried incase I lose my visa and therefore my 5 points! Any of your thoughts would be great, I do not think I have been treated fairly by my employer and if I lose my job could I claim for unfair dismissal? Thanks alot!!!:arghh:
  4. Dears, pls be so kind to help me to find out if my job is listed on SOL. I'm a forwarding agent working in logistic / shipping company (organising transport and goods distribution). My job includes pretty much all types of building works, facillitys, install, carpentry, plumbing, lock picking!, etc etc... I am c&g quallified plumb & chippy, but as my job title is neither in particular does that mean im off the list or what? I dont really want to go back to site work just to make my job title suit, I would be willing to do site work when I get to Oz tho. Any ideas?
  6. Can't really take credit for this as nicked the idea of the radio I'm afraid,:embarrassed:. But in this modern world have you found you job title change, you know the type of thing, I was once a removalist, in this day and age it is called a 'Removal Operative',:goofy: Or the local fella who pushes trollies around at Tesco,:notworthy: is now known as 'Operator Of Semi Mechanical Implements'.:goofy: I also work from home a lot, but I am to be called a 'SOHO' er (small office, home office) otherwise known as tea and biscuit partaker when had enough.:biglaugh: And did you know, though a little off tack but TRUE that many plastic/cosmetic surgeons belong to 'BAPS',:shocked::biglaugh: (British Association of Plastic Surgeons). Job Title advice

HI I hope someone can help! I am after some advice regarding a job I am applying for, the job title is an: Energy Management Coordinator. Song Title 'True' Meanings

Yep, I'm bored, but thought this may while away a few seconds,:biglaugh:. Without googling folks do you know what some song titles 'really' mean, I think I can come up with four, so here goes. 1. Ebeneezer Goode by the Shamen. Denied that is was about ecstasy for years, but admitted in the end that this was the case.:policeman: 2. Turning Japanese by the Vapors. About a girlfriend and masturbation.:policeman: 3. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds by the Beatles. Again denied for years about LSD, but Paul McCartney confirmed the song was inspired by LSD.:wubclub: 4. Brown Sugar by the Stones. Many connotations to this song, but the main subject was Cocaine. Any more you can think of, no cheating peeps.:policeman: Cheers Tony.

  14. Hello We are thinking about a big move, and are just gathering info at the moment but the question I have is what is my partner's job classed as????? He is a ceiling fixer/dry liner/partitioner, he also does metal stud and track and taping and jointing. I have found this listed under fibrous plasterer but he isn't a plasterer by trade so would it still come under this?? Thank you!!!
  15. I keep browsing the Real Estate sites, just to get a grip on house prices in various suburbs as we consider and plan our move. I sometimes see the term "Torrens Title" and had assumed it was something undesirable and kept forgetting to look it up. So, just now I have and I have found a huge amount of info on the wonderful wiki, but I don't understand a word of it (I thought I was quite bright, but I obviously don't have a clue about Real Estate!). So please - could someone explain it to me in words of two syllables or less. In particular what effect such title has on the buyer/owner of the property. Am I correct in thinking that it makes the property less desirable?

    no title

As you'll answer it, take heed This Slave commit no Violence upon Himself. I've been deceiv'd. The Publick Safety Requires he should be more confin'd; and none, No not the Princes self, permitted to Confer with him. I'll quit you to the King. Vile and ingrate! too late thou shalt repent The base Injustice thou hast done my Love: Yes, thou shalt know, spite of thy past Distress, And all those Ills which thou so long hast mourn'd; Heav'n has no Rage, like Love to Hatred turn'd, Nor Hell a Fury, like a Woman scorn'd.

Hi All, Soz i wasnt sure what to title this question but i would be very grateful if anyone could advise me on the following I should obtain my PR this august 08, (spouse visa) i have 2 daughters in the uk and one would like to come out to oz for a year on a working visa, i was wondering if once i have my PR if they would have to come on a working visa or if it would make any difference becuase i will be a PR - would they have to have a working visa and be limited to a year. I know there are conditions that apply to a working visa i.e. you must not have dependents be under a certain age have min of 2,000 uk pounds on start of trip (all that i have read from a website) but would it make and difference if mum (& baby sis) are now PR's Hope that makes sense thanks gizmo

  22. Hi there i have a question my self and husband and children r considering the move to oz . Looked into seeing if we have enough points and have come across a situation if we put in our ocupation as insurance we dont have enough points, but if we list my husband under manager as he is md of company and me as company sec we have enough points. BUT have been told that the chances of being accepted under the manger job description is vey remote as it has a 70% rejection. Was just wondering if anyone had any advice ? or if anyone had gained visa this way? Thank you Michelle
