    Advice please

    Hi Folks Two weeks ago I instructed my agent I wanted to break lease. They advertised the property. My neighbours told me today that on Wednesday last week there were about six real estate agents in the property without my knowledge. It looks like the current agent has been given the sack. Does this leave me just paying the rent for another 3 months? do I have any rights at all? The new agent has advised me to make a claim at the court to seek an order for a settlement figure. Anyone have any experience of this? Millie x
  2. Hi all... My girlfriend and I are looking to move out to Sydney around Feb next year, i'll be working at Bankstown airport. Having read loads of good advice on these forums, I'm having a bit of trouble finding advice on short term accomodation upon arrival. I'd like to set something up where we can step off the plane and know where we'll be staying for say the first 2 weeks/1 month, while we sort out long term let, car, and all the other fun stuff! I'd probably be looking to spend $350 pw on a long term, so am I dreaming on finding a short term for the same price? Also, can anyone recommend a good agent or are there any private landlords out there (or friends thereof) who look for short term tenants? thanks. :cool:
  3. i recently relocated from the UK to Sydney and I've had major issues around mould growing in my bathroom and moving into the bedroom... i haven't come across this problem before because back home we have central heating... i've asked the estate agency to put an extractor fan in the bathroom - initially after being told essentially to bugger off, they've asked the landlord who is attending meetings with housing groups etc to find an answer. the initial complaint was lodged around 5 months ago, and has been ongoing for the last 3-4 months (after saying that the landlord was making enquiries). now my question is, is it illegal to have a bathroom without an extractor fan? we were told (in the height of winter) that we had to regulate it ourselves and open all of the windows in our house, and that we must keep the flat well ventilated - even though they haven't provided an extrator fan to remove the condensation... i've searched the web and haven't found any legislation around the matter. any help would be appreciated.
  4. hi, I want to break my lease and wondered if there was anyone interested in taking it over? It runs til beg. May. I want to put an offer in on a house so that is the only reason I am not staying here. The Rental is brilliantly located, 5-10 mins slow walk to beach at Quinns Rocks. It is a 4x2, all cream and modern throughout and exceptionally clean and tidy. It is also in a super location to schools and situated in a lovely little cul-de-sac.   5. Hi Guys Well after 2 years of rejecting stupid offers, sales falling through and reducing our price 3 times we decided to rent out our property last week. Signed the agency forms on Thursday, get a phonecall on Saturday to say an American family want to view. Cut a deal there and then wanted £895 pm got £875 and they want to buy after 6 months renting!!!!!:jiggy: So to all you people struglling to sell renting could be your better option:yes: Good Luck Everyone!
