  1. Hey there,me again with another question! hopefully lodging our application for 457 visa. Myself and my fiancé have been together four years, live together and have joint bank accounts etc.. I was wondering how many and what type of supporting documents are best to upload with our application as proof of our relationship?we have lots of documents to prove our relationship but wondering what ones are best?
  2. Hi, I'm looking to complete the Vetasses application form (the one for professionals etc) but having read through the form & the notes for completion, it appears that the only document I need to enclose, other than photos, copy passport etc, is my degree certificate and the form does not ask for a huge amount of detail for my secondary & post-secondary education. Having read a number of posts on here etc, I got the impression I would have to enclose a lot more supporting documentation and more information on myself. I'd be really grateful for any information from people who've completed the application and can shed some light if I need to supply more than the basic information that the form seems to ask for? Thanks a lot, Jon

    Loss of supporting evidence

Hi everyone, I've just joined the forum. I used to browse, but have recently suffered a disaster which I must post about! I'm over here on a Prospective Spouse Visa. We married last month so I've been completing stage two: the Partner Visa application. Imagine my horror when my wife informed me that she had binned pretty much all the supporting documents which we sent with the original Prospective spouse app:wacko: Things which are irretrievably lost: tickets for shared holidays, utility bills, etc. We still have all the photos but that's pretty much it. Am I doomed? Can I ask the case officer who processed the original app to send me copies (I suspect not)? Does the fact that I was granted the stage one Visa constitute proof that we must have submitted satifactory supporting documentation originally (again, I'm not optimistic)? Any help and advice would be much appreciated.
  4. Hi guys, Although only just signed up I've been reading this forum for a while now and have enjoyed reading the good luck stories. I'm hoping to start my own good luck story now. Fingers crossed. I'll keep the introduction brief for now but questions are welcome and more will come out as we go. I've been with my now wife, who is Australian, for over three years and since the second year we've been satisfied we'd be settling in Australia. We currently live in London. After a lot of turmoil, considering and then rejecting applying on the grounds of de facto, a year apart while she saved money at home, her move to Ireland for a year, while I went over from London a couple of times a month, we finally got married in October last year and again in Australia in April this year. It is now time, having settled into our married life, to begin the process of applying for a visa. I suppose I am just looking for opinions and advice on how much supporting evidence we require or should include with our application. How many supporting stat decs should we include? Her parents think, after we convinced them the priest who married us didn't know us sufficiently, that we should include one from each family member, I say a select few. Apart from the obvious bank statements, evidence of travel, of which we have loads, what other, less obvious, proofs of relationship do people include? The hand book says evidence of joint membership of clubs but we aren't currently members of any clubs. My wife insists that I join a salsa club to tick that box. I have two left feet, so please, help me out with an alternative . As I say, having read the forums for the last year its daunting now that I'm on the verge of beginning the process and your suggestions on where to start would be appreciated. Regards Red
  5. Hi, We've just lodged our 176 (state sponsored) visa. But a little unsure as to whether we now need to proceed with police checks and medicals or wait until instructed by CO as mentioned on other PIOs threads - it states online that these are 'required' along with all other documents, with no mention of waiting for a CO. Also the info regarding proving a defacto relationship (i believe this is the info provided for all types of visa applicants) states we need at least two 888 forms completed by Australian citizens... Is this really a requirement for offshore 176 applicants? Thanks in advance Chris
  6. well we literally have all of our documentation now, we have begun trying to put it all in correct order and will go and photocopy everything this afternoon. Just wondering about our supporting documentation for our proof of our relationship... Should we go through with a highlighter and highlight our names on all the documents where we are both on it? And highlight things like, phone calls to each other on our phone bills? Does this help the CO to save time on looking through the documents to try and figure out what they are for...? This is our last question i think, then tomorrow i am going into london to see a registered migrant agent to certify our copies then lodge it on friday.... Also I think i asked the question before, but, can we just walk into Australia House in London and lodge it in person, do we have to book or do we send it off to them....??? Thanks
  7. Hi guys, I'm in the process of applying online for an e457 visa and need some advice about the documents that have to be attatched. Can I send pdf copies of my original documents or do I have to get copies certified and then pdf the certified copies to attach to the application? Thanks for any help. T
  8. We're in the process of gathering things to include in our visa application. We are going to include proof of our joint bank account so are going to include bank statements. Do we need to include every single statement going back to when we opened the account or will it be enough to just put in maybe the first one and the latest one? Thank you
  9. Hi, my hubby is applying for a Spouse Visa and was hoping there may be someone who has already had this granted who may offer some assistance. Firstly, the statements from ourselves - does 1 page each seem reasonable? (or are they looking for a detailed saga of our lives together) In respect of supporting docs, I have found the following items in our joint names. Is there any guidelines on how many docs you should send? - Home Insurance policy in joint names - Council tax bill in joint names - Rental agreement in joint names - Water bill in joint names - My old super fund statement, showing hubby's name as beneficiary - Private health insurance in joint names I am not in the habit of retaining old documents so all these are recent, do you think this matters? We have been together for about 8.5 years. Thanks for your help! I do love this forum - wish they had an Australian equivalent when I was trying to get my UK visa!
  10. Hey Guys, I am just having a few problems. I got another letter from CO requiring new letters from friends and they need to sign 888 forms as well. what bothers me is that somehow our friends (I am applying for the defacto, partner is Aus) are afraid of being contacted by the immigration (since in the letters the timeline of us living together might be pushed higher). Does anyone know or have experienced that the CO have called or invited the supporting letter writers for an interview? I just don't want to get them into trouble. thanks in advance.

    Supporting Documents

Hello lovely people, I have submitted my on-line application for 176. Do I have to send in my supporting documents now or will I be prompted to do so by SA Immigration. Thanks for any advice SE
  12. Hi everyone, Our de facto off shore application is almost ready. I just wanted to ask about how many bank statements to include. I have included the last 18 months of mine, as that shows transfers to my partner for rent, holidays, tickets to gigs etc over that time. I wasn't sure whether to also include 18 months of his, or whether this is a waste of trees seeing as it will not show much more than mine. If I do just include mine, should I write a statement saying why my partner's have not been included? Also, I am struggling to pin point exactly what transactions relate to our grocery shop. Up until recently (I am now on a tourist visa not working and so my partner pays for the shopping) we shared the shopping but this was in a haphazard way. Either I paid on card and he paid the next time, or he might pay on card a couple of times in a row and I gave him the cash....we didn't have a set routine. Therefore, I haven't highlighted our shopping in my bank statements but left any Coles or Woolworths transactions clearly visible, and have written a mini statement explaining. Does this sound ok? Thanks!
  13. Hi All, I've just signed an employment contract, and am about to embark on the Visa application process (Section 457). Despite searching all over the immigration and consulate websites I can't find a definitive answer on the supporting documents. I have lived in Hong Kong, Singapore and the UK over the past 10 years and am in my early 30's 1. Medical - as I live in Hong Kong I understand that I need to do a lung X-ray. Are other tests needed? 2. Character - Are police certificates needed for a 457? If so how far back? Has anyone tried getting a UK clearance from overseas, and if so how long did it take? 3. English Language/Skills - I am not a UK citizen, but went to a UK university and secondary school, is that enough to prove that I speak English? What else is needed? Lastly about moving/upgrading to PR. What is the process of transferring here? Does your job need to be on the migration lists or is there another process once you have been in Australia for a while?
  14. Does anyone know what supporting documents are needed when applying online? I have downloaded the paper version and tbh it asks for very little, I asked for the same information from our visa agent and they've sent a checklist that asks for alot more than that stated on the paper app. I have had a look online and can't find anything that states what is actually needed, don't want to start the application and then find I need further info. Thanks

    e457 supporting documents

Hi, I'm sure this has been asked many many times but I'm having trouble finding information via the search function. I have submitted the 457 online and am gathering documents to attach. I'm a bit unsure exactly what I should be attaching (defacto evidence etc) so was hoping someone has information/a link to the relevant page/form on the immi website or similar (or info from personal experience). I have obviously looked through the immi site and 457 information but cant find what I'm looking for. Thanks
  16. Hi everyone, I would like some advice please on certain documents to support Spouse Visa. Am I, the sponsor, and my O/H, the applicant, required to provide evidence of earnings, P60's, (anything financial) in support of the application forms 47SP and 40SP. I think I have almost all of the evidence required but just unsure of a few things. Any help will be great, thank you.:wubclub:
  17. Hi, About to apply for de facto and a bit confused regarding the stat decs and supporting statements. I know for ozzies, we require them to complete an 888 form, get a copy done of their ID and have this certified. I also wanted to include supporting statements from my friends and relatives in the UK. I understand it is ok for them to write a letter, containing their statement and contact details and that ID is not needed. However, is it ok for them to just write the letter and sign it, then return it back to me, or should they be getting the letter counter signed by someone? If so, who? I don't want to have to ask people to go and hunt out a solicitor in the UK to get them witnessed if it is no necessary. Thanks
  18. Hello, I am about to apply for a defacto visa, I have lots of joint account statements, joint lease, wedding invitations, bills etc .... will I ned to send the originals or copies? 19. please help me before i go totally mad!!!!! Sorry to be such a pain. I am at present scouring the house for documents to support my husbands application for spouse visa. I have so far found: Building Society info from sale of our last house (shows joint names but old address) It's a redemption statement. 2009 mortgage statement (in both names) Current partners car insurance certificate, showing me as named driver My car insurance has been renewed today so documents in post in 5 days, cartificate will show husband as named driver. Current bank statement showing joint names. Forgive me if i seem not with it, but am i barking up the wrong tree here? Do all these documents have to be in joint names, current address etc.... I'm a bit confused as to weather immigration want to see this as evidence that we are in an ongoing relationship (married 8 years) together for 16, 1 biological child age 6. Can i photocopy these papers or are they not accepted? My son hasnt got passport now as it's expired, so need to get his oz one very soon. He is a citizen. Not sure what other documents i could send-any preferences please anyone? Thanks so much!:err:

  21. I'm glad that the WC2010 is on from today. At least it'll take my mind away from worrying about the visa waiting time... So who are your team? or which one do you support, want, or predict to win?
  22. I lodged the visa and then stupidly uploaded the ordinary documents rather than the compressed ones:arghh:. So ive exceeded the maximum upload. Is there a generic email adrress to send the outstanding documents to? Its a WA 457 if that makes any difference. Thanks
  23. hey guys ....again! haha. Ok so ive read through the migration booklets etc, thanks for that previous info. I know about the forms i need to supply etc. But i was hoping that anyone who has also done this process could give me some extra tips of supporting documents to help my application. We already have letters addressed to us both, rental bond in our names, rent reciepts, pictures of us in differnt locations, joint bank account, of course pictures of the upcoming wedding, wedding certificate etc. So while im compiling all this evidence etc i was hoping there would be anyone on here willing to give me any tips/advice on anything else that would be helpful for our application. Thanks in advance once again  ( i also know about form 80 aswell thanks to this forum )
  24. My girlfriend and I are about to lodge our 457 visa application. I would like to confirm a couple of things I have gathered from the various postings on this site before we do so. 1) Supporting documents (including de facto relationship proof) don’t have to be certified IF they are scanned colour copies of the original colour documents. Only original documents that are in black and white need to be certified, is this correct? 2) Despite being from the UK which has a Reciprocal Healthcare Agreement with Australia we still need to have a health insurance policy that covers us for the period we are there before we can sign up for Medicare? 3) IMAN also known as aushealth.com seems to be the way most people are obtaining the health insurance cover or are there better companies? 4) Outside of the ‘Fact Sheet 35 - One-Year Relationship Requirement’ Australian Immigration Fact Sheet 35. One-Year Relationship Requirement is there a list of suggested documents suitable for proving the one year relationship requirement? Many thanks in advance for any suitable responses. Looking forward to getting this lodged soon. Rob
