Previous work with Dale Alcocks, webb brown neaves etc etc. Really appreciate it cheers

Hi, Just about to write out my trade evidence form and was wondering whether it is worth going as a supervisor electrician or a general electrician. I'm currently a foreman/site supervisor and i've been doing this job for several years now on projects around £6 million (electrical package) looking after between 20-40 electricians, so i don't think i'd have any problems passing the supervisor trades test. But would it make any difference when i get over to aus? Would it make it easier or harder to find a job? Would Aus firms take any notice of the vetassess assessment? I have no problem going back on the tools and it would even be a welcome break. I just want to make it as easy as possible to find a job when i get over there. On another note, we are looking at going to SA, does anybody know what the work situation for installation electricians is like? As most of the jobs on offer through the jobfinder websites are for maintenance electricians and none of them show any wages. If anyone can help me out, i'd be very grateful. :notworthy: Martyn

Hi Moving to Perth HURRAH!!!!! end of June with wife and children (10&8). Will be living NOR, probably Quinns Rock but who knows. As says above scaffolder by trade so I am wondering if anybody can advise as to any particularly good firms (engineering,mining,off-shore) to approach. Or as importantly any to give a wide berth to. Also any advice about putting a cv together for Australian HR managers. All advice greatly appreciated. Only 71 'sleeps' to go.

Hey all, This is my first post so forgive me if this has been covered before. My girlfriend and I have talked about moving to Australia for a number of years however never done anything about it. We now would like to look into the possibilty of relocating to Melbourne, obviously our first concern is finding work and whether either of our jobs would qualify us for a VISA. My girlfriend is a fully qualified Child care supervisor to HND level with a management qualification, she has over ten years experience in child care with 5 years experience at supervisor/assistant manager level in a very prestigeous pre school. I run my own vehicle detailing business and would like to continue this however may not be possible-i must stress this is not your cheap £5 car wash but a very high end professional detailing service mainly dealing with the likes of ferrari, porsche, aston martin etc etc. So really we are looking for advice on these two careers ie availabilty, salaries, etc etc Any inforamtion would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Gav and Katie(both 29 years old) Aberdeen,Scotland

He is thinking of applying as an Electrical supervisor, would this give him more employment opportunities? Has anyone had any experience of the vettassess electrical supervisor exam? Hi, We have sent an application to Vetassess under 4311-01 supervisor-electricians. Does anyone know if this occupation is included in the new sol under electricians. I've found a migration agent's site Specialised Occupations which suggests it is. Any info would be gratefully appreciated or would like to hear from anyone in a similar situation:) Thanks Alex

Hello! My Husband and I visted the migration agent today! He is 5 points short because of his age, and needs a letter from an employer in Oz to say they would be willing to employ him or he needs to take an english test. :arghh: My question to everyone, is where is the best place for panel beaters to go in Oz? I've been looking at Victoria, but would appreciate some advice from anyone on this site. Thanks :notworthy:
