I have questions about bringing partner from overseas. I'm not married to the girl yet. My plan is as follows. Step 1: bring her in Australia on visitor visa subclass 600. Her reason to visit to Australia will be to meet me and explore Australia and the culture before making marriage decision. Step 2: get married to her while she is in Australia on visitor visa. Step 3: Apply for partner visa subclass 820 followed by subclass 801 after two years. Can someone suggest about this plan if this will work or not? Is there any better way to get her visitor visa approved? Another option that I can think is to go to India, get married to her first and then follow the same steps. (Eg. Visitor visa than 820 & 801) If someone has done similar way or better way, please suggest. Thanks in Advance.
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has shared advice and experiences in the short time I've been posting on the forum. So pleased to say that my temporary 820 partner visa application was granted, on the 29/05/2018 (My Birthday!) 5 months after I applied on 17/12/2017. For those who are applying for the same or similar visas, I had a medical April 17th and was not asked to an interview. I would be happy to answer any questions about documents uploaded, forms submitted etc. It's a massive weight off our minds so thank you to the PomsinOz community!
neo1559 posted a topic in Visa ChatHi there everyone, I was wondering if someone could offer me some advice. I came to Australia 2 years ago on a working holiday visa to be with my Australian partner (she is an Australian citizen), since then we have got married and I am now on a spouse visa (I think it is subclass 800 - the temporary partner visa pending the 2 year waiting period to prove the legitimacy of the relationship). My question is - my wife is now pregnant and I still have exactly a year left to wait on this temporary spouse visa until a decision is made on my permanent one - does this change things at all? do I still wait another year until my permanent spouse visa is approved or do I get put on another visa? I am really unsure as to what to do and whether or not I need to get in touch with immigration to let them know of my changing circumstances. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
