Secondary schools in Berwick, Lynbrook, Narre Warren Sth, End. Hills areas ...
Guest posted a topic in Victoria
Hi, Can anyone help us please. We are moving to Melbourne in Sept this year and have narrowed it down to a few areas; Berwick, Narre Warren South, Lynbrook, Endeavour Hills. Our kids are primary school age still but we are trying to think about Secondary Schools for when the time comes in 3-4 years. Can anyone shed any light on the situation with secondary schools in these areas? Any good ones to recommend, or avoid? Also, where does Lynbrook Primary feed into? Many thanks, Sam -
These comments are lifted from the leaked State Budget - http://resources.news.com.au/files/2010/09/15/1225923/605214-aus-file-sa-budget-cuts.pdf Why not sack the underperforming staff and promote the go-getters? I think this means the State Govt don't like running the operation themselves, ie ask DIAC to run a sponsorship office in SA. Anyone could have said that some of those markets would provide zero return. The State is a little guilty of supporting anything and everything it appears, rather than doing a better job in the more likely venues. That's accounting thinking for you. Any migrant in a regional area will make a much higher local contribution in societal development and total productivity than the ones who anonymously blend into urban areas. Imagine a town with 1000 people getting ten skilled migrants, versus a city of 1,000,000 getting those ten migrants.

how to contact UK migrants to Sth East Queensland re real estate?
Guest posted a topic in Renting & Real Estate
Hi folks - been reading a lot here and at the risk of sounding too forward was hoping someone might be kind enough to point me in the right direction. For several years up until the end of 2008, I had been a real estate agent servicing most of the northern side of Brisbane. During this time I have met some wonderful folks who have migrated from the UK and have thoroughly enjoyed assisting them in the process of renting/purchasing within the area. I have now left general real estate, but am still playing in the "game" working with developers as a marketer to help them sell their stock and also as a liaison between people moving into the area wanting to build (or buy off the plan) and builders in different areas of South East Queensland. My question is, knowing the large number of folks moving across from the UK and Sth Africa at the moment - Does anyone have any suggestions on how to speak to this market and/or present different opportunities to them??? Please note that I am not trying to push anything in this post - just seeking some information at this point. However, if there is someone on this forum who knows and has contact with these markets and directs property overseas etc. I am most happy to discuss any potential business opportunities as well. I hope I am not being too forward here - In return I will gladly assist in trying to answer any real estate questions relating to Queensland law and processes (and Oz generally). Thanks in advance, Grant -

Hi all you good people I received my CO in Feb, and he requested 4 further pieces of information to be supplied by 09 March. 1) Police clearance from the UK - I have emailed this to my CO 2) Police clearance from the South Africa -this can take a looooong time to obtain but application on its way to an agent in Pretoria who will handle it 3) Work duty statement and reference - I have emailed this to my CO 4) Medical examination - my wife had a medical procedure done in late December and is seeing her consultant towards the end of April for final clearance, I agreed to my CO to only do the medicals after that date as the panel doctor would most likely ask for a report from the consultant I am worried that this delay will be affected by the changes anounced this week. I work in IT and although that have not been taken off the CSL it might be soon. What is the position if an application is at this stage? What happens to people whose jobs have been removed but who have a state sponsorship and are at a similar state in the application process, does that mean their application will be rejected???? :mask:
