  1. I'm not sure if I can cope with another 'night shift' after the game against the Gooners but if I don't turn up I feel like I've let the other guys down. Many of them come from all over Sydney, one from Central Coast, work the next day too. Once I'm thinking about it, even going to bed is no good because I wake up anyway. Liverpool v Man Utd at 1045pm tonight? A much more civilised time. Why don't they kick of all the EPL games at that time?
  2. I'm not going to gloat because it could have gone either way but it is nice not to expect to lose when we play them. Going to a pub where you can watch your team play is a brilliant way of socialising. One of the couples I know there brought another couple with them (not Spurs fans) and they said they had the best time since they arrived in January! Nearly 5.30 time to get to bed!
  3. I'm leaving now at nearly midnight to walk down Elizabeth St to the pub, take me 15 mins. If anyone else is sitting at home watching on their own, get your skates on! (if you are a Spurs fan that is! - otherwise go to Cheers on George St!)
  4. Shame on me for watching the first half at home but I did push myself to walk down Elizabeth Street at 6 am to watch the 2nd half in The Triple Aces (5 other guys had turned up but none were drinking beer!) Afterwards I had a 2nd breakfast with a couple of them back up E St - is it the Centennial Plaza? That ugly three-block complex full of cold-wind tunnels - it was chilly today too. Might have to go back to bed now though!
  5. Sydney OzSpurs currently meet at: Triple Ace Bar 198 Elizabeth Street Corner of Elizabeth & Campbell, nr Central Stn (02) 9212 1911 For the latest details of meet-ups and live games make sure you check out the OzSpurs Forum. It's the next best thing to being at WHL! Wear a shirt if you've got one & bring your singing voice.
  6. If you are a Spurs fan that is, or even maybe an Everton fan for one night only! I expect most Spurs fans know this already, but if you don't, this is where Spurs fans go! Some to watch the game, some to drink and watch the game, some to drink, sing & watch the game. and all for a good time, even if we lose!
  7. 15 minute walk but some of the guys have been there since 10pm - KO at midnight. Thought about taking my car so I won't have a beer - not wanting to repeat last night - but it's lazy to get it out of the garage to drive 2km. Oh well, I guess all around OZ other guys (and a few girls) are going out (or staying in) to watch their games - Man U on at 2.30am the only uncivilized time. Seem to recall a lady going to Perth worrying about her hubbie having to go 'cold turkey' and give up his footie? Well, no probs as far as EPL & SPL go and sports bars are everywhere. Recommend he gets into Aussie sports too plus the A League.
  8. I love my Pommie 'soccer' but, when your AFL/NRL team is on fire, it's really something. Listening to them sing the team song when they win too - amazing how good it feels! So, get yourself a team to follow, read the back pages as well as the front. Forget about the TAB though, that's a step too far though.

    Spurs v Everton - OFF!

The situation must be REALLLY serious!
  10. Spurs clung on against AC Milan for the win which they deserved after the performance in the San Siro. Harry next for England after the Dogfather Capello is sacked? Can Spurs go all the way? Aresnal are bombing out of everything. Any hope of silverware this year? Could Chelsea sneak an unlikely premiership win? No ladies please, footballs a mans game. lol:yes::laugh:

    Hi. Any Spurs fans!!!??

:cool:Hello there- wanted to know if we are the only Spurs supporters here on the Sunshine Coast??!! If there are any more of you out there, pleeeaaase get intouch!! Love to meet you!!
  12. I'm a builder from Hertfordshire with a six-month-old son and am looking for other dads to have a few beers and a game of pool with from time to time. Why should the mums have all the social life?? Most of the lads I work with are younger and I'm too old (37!!) to go out drinking all night with them, but not too old to be wearing slippers and drinking Horlicks... If anyone wants to meet up or knows of any existing meet ups, please get in touch. Cheers martin
  13. Any spurs fans want to comiserate/moan with the OH? Beacuse I'VE RUN OUT OF SYMPATHY!!!!!:arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh:
