Hello Guys, I have a question regarding spouse VISA application. I have been in a relationship with my girlfriend for around 12 years and now planning to get married by end of April this year (2014). I am a permanent resident of Australia as well. My plan is to get my girlfriend (later wife) right away along with me once our marriage is done. Hence I wanted to ask you few questions: 1) Under what VISA (spouse) would she would be applying from offshore (India) 2) If we apply for spouse VISA from India and get all documents ready/ medicals done/ police checks done, can she travel with me to Australia on Visitors Visa for few months? Does her travelling make any changes in terms of timelines in getting her spouse visa granted? 3) In-case she travels on Visitors visa while her spouse visa is being processed back home in India and by the time there is a decision made on confirming her visa, do you think it would be a problem if at that time she is in Australia with me? 4) As per the forums I have gone through it takes around 6-8 months roughly to get a spouse Visa granted in India. Any people over here who happen to get their Spouse Visa’s before the said timeline or others who are still awaiting a confirmation after a year or so. If yes, what is the reason for the delay? 5) One important thing. My GF has a medical condition known as ‘ulcerative colitis’. Would this create any problems while getting her medicals done? I would appreciate your response on the above questions. If possible, try to be as brief and clear as you can so others would gain first-hand knowledge from your experience. Thanks guys. Cheers.

Hello everyone, After reading as many threads as I could I thought to post my story and hope to read yours. I am French, lived in the UK for the past 20 years. I am married to an Aussie and we have a little girl. We are hoping to move to Perth in the not too distant future. We lodged all our papers at the end of January this year and got our acknowledgement email on the 7th of February 2013. All our papers are up date and nothing more was requested of us. We were told to do my police check and health checks on or after the 5th of May but I got them done around the 12th of April (It was just easier to do) Since then NOTHING- I have asked if they got my health checks back (as the was referred) and they said NO- I had declared PND and recurrent UTI but neither are ongoing nor have I been hospitalised for them. Has anyone experienced the same waiting time? Has anyone got their spouse visa in 2013? Have you got any tips? Thank you everyone and good luck with your application.

Applying for Spouse visa, kids are already Australian citizens
Beckyelton posted a topic in Visa Chat
I'm in the process of applying for a spouse visa, our children already have Australian citizenship & passports. So, whilst they are my dependants and will be migrating with us, they don't need a visa. Will the fact that I put their Australian passport numbers in the application mean that the authorities know this and I don't need to put them down as dependants later in the form? It's very confusing and the form doesn't seem to allow for this situation, unless I'm misreading it. Anyone else in this situation already got their visa and could shed some light? Thanks- 2 replies

VISA 190 - Spouse Passport has an old Canadian Visa stamped as a minor
sarimmumtaz posted a topic in Visa Chat
hello guys, I am the primary applicant, I am planning to apply for the VISA 190 Victoria, so currently gathering my documents while i wait for the ITA. However I just realized that my spouse and her family tried immigrating to Canada in 1996 but came back 13 months later and did not apply for permanent residency. (She was 12 years old at the time). Will this be an issue? while filing for VISA do i need to get a PCC for her for this? (or for her father who was the primary applicant when they went to Canada?) I am not using an agent so really need help guys. My timeline so far is below: ACS app/+-ive : 30 Dec 2012/4 Mar 2013 IELTS : R 9/ L 8.5/ W 7/ S 7 VIC SS app: 6 April 2013/ awaiting ITA Thanks in advance guys- 1 reply
