  1. Hi, My friend told me about this forum and that it might be able to help me. I have been in oz for the past 8 months and am currently coming to the end of my six months with one employer. I have been applying for jobs in my field. My experience: I have 9 years experience in retail banking in Ireland. I have a degree in business A professional diploma it Digital Marketing and a PRINCE2 in Project Management I have been looking into skillselect and other ways to try to stay in this country that I have fallen in love with. If any one out there has gone through something similar and had success I would love to hear about it and try to apply it to my situation. Thanks John
  2. Hi all- Came across this site and it's great to see a place where others can come together on their (hopeful) journey to Australia! I'm an American primary school teacher with British QTS qualifications who's been living and working out in London for the past 6 years with my wife (a German national). We love living and working out here in the UK but my wife and my dream has always been to move and live in Australia. It's not an easy dream as we both realize how difficult it is to get visas to live out there, especially as primary school teachers are a dime a dozen and my wife is a sales admin team leader, which isn't a job on the highly skilled list. I've come here to find as much information as I can about getting sponsored to teach in Sydney. We just returned from a wonderful 3 week trip down under and met fellow travelers who shared their experiences about getting sponsored to teach at schools in Melbourne and Sydney. I have always been under the impression that it is really hard to get a teacher sponsorship in Australia unless taking on work in the middle of the nowhere, and hearing this from teachers on our travels filled us with hope as it has always been our dream to move to Australia! I am hoping to hear as much information as I can about what it would take to get teaching work out in NSW. Over the last week, I've been in touch with the Visa Bureau and was offered a Skilled - Nominated (subclass 190) visa which would allow my wife and I to live and work with no restrictions in Oz, but unfortunately this would only be offered for us to move to the Northern Territory (or Victoria if I could teach a modern foreign language, which I cannot). I had mentioned to the Visa Bureau that it would be preferred to live in NSW as we have friends and family friends out there and was told that my best option is to try and obtain an employer sponsored 457 visa, which is a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia based on receiving sponsorship from an eligible employer. She then told me the following important information: This is what leads me here! Most teachers looking to find sponsorship go through the Working Holiday or Working and Holiday visa route, which allows them to do casual work at schools around the areas they want to live in Oz and hopefully one of the schools will offer sponsorship after having taught at their school and getting to know you. Unfortunately, as I'm in the middle of the school year teaching right now here in London and turn 31 in about a month's time, this option isn't available for me so I have to heavily depend on finding sponsorship at a school without having stepped foot into their school before. I understand this makes my chances of finding a school to sponsor me very small, but it is worth a try asking for help. If anyone out there has any information about finding sponsorship to teach at a school that could be passed on to me, that would be greatly appreciated! I am sure there are countless other teachers in the same boat as me out there who could benefit from this information as well. Much thanks and kind regards in advance, JP
  3. Hi, Just wondering is it possible for an international student to find a marketing/research related job with a sponsorship (186 Direct entry stream)? I am seeking advice as my visa will be expired at the beginning of next year. Thanks !
  4. Hi everyone! I'm an elderly/disabled carer in the UK. I am currently in the process of emigrating to Australia using a large migration company based in Christchurch. As the final part of this process, I require a sponsorhip job. We've been fighting through the migration process for 2 YEARS now, and have spent more than 9000 good old english pounds on it. I have a positive Vetassess skills and qualifications assessment, and an IELTS 7.5 (meaning I'm an expert user of English), have more than 3 years experience with disabled care, severe Alzheimers, aged care. I am very keen to carry on professional and respectful levels of care I currently give in the UK and wish to settle permanently in any area of Australia. Sponsorship would be the last thing we need to apply for visa, and we try to find a company that could/would help. Having spent almost 10.000 pounds on migration already, I am 1000% committed to living permanently in Australia, I am also willing, at my very own cost, to upgrade my qualification to the Australian certificate III/IV on arrival. I lived in New Zealand and loved it, i'm familiar with working in that corner of the world Naturally we constantly look for possibilities on the net, making enquiries, but no luck yet. If you could help, or know someone who could, please let me know! You can change our lives!! thank you for your consideration! Szabina

    Value for money?

As this is a reasonably busy thread can I ask your opinion. With the new EOI system yet to settle down there is clearly some confusion in the market place. livethedreamaustralia.com is a migration management service helping skilled UK workers to start a new life in Australia. We have a turn key solution for our clients who wish to go to Australia with the intention of staying. We first get the client, employer ready with a resume creation service, interview coaching, job search, arranging interviews, manage employment packages including relocation support packages, processing of the 457 visa, (client pays the $365 submission fee to DIAC), we then organise accommodation in Australia, book flights, open bank accounts, open FX accounts, arrange shipping etc and then arrange for the client to be met in Australia. On top of these services we are a great source of information about Australia and the process. My question is this; considering the cost of using a migration agent for a typical 190 state sponsored visa could cost around £5,000 - £7,000 do you think our fee of £3200 plus vat is reasonable? Please also consider that we currently only have jobs for Diesel Mechanics/Fitters (about 200), Plant Fitters (about 75), Car Mechanics (20), Spray Painters (45), Panel Beater (25), Welders (30), Fabricators (30), Hydraulic Fitters (15), Industrial/Maintenance Electricians (5) Thank you for your time Tony Mooney (mooney33)
  7. Hi all, I am an Internal Auditor with 5 years experience in the manufacturing/ petrochemical sector and looking for an employer who will be willing to sponsor me. I went to Australia few months ago for a short visit and fell in love with it. Hence I would like to relocate there. 8. Hi i am currently on a 2 week break in Perth staying in rivervale. I have been working as a self employed joiner/ ceilings and partitioner in the UK for 17 years. Im looking to find permanent employment to allow me to apply for a 457 visa as soon as possible so i can move out here with my wife and chilldren. Can anyone help or advise..?
  9. Hi everyone, I just returned from a month in Australia having been to Sydney, Townsville and Cairns on a holiday VISA. It was absolutely amazing and I am looking to relocate permanently. I've been searching for ITIL qualified Incident Manager roles that are available in Sydney and have applied for a few but the sponsorship seems to be a bit of an issue.. 1 company said they would employ me no problem, if I got a VISA through my own channels. So.. as I am over 30 now, please can anybody help me understand how I can go about applying for a VISA without guaranteed sponsorship, OR are there any decent IT employment agencies that I can contact? Thanks for your time in advance everyone. Luke
