  1. Morning all, We've just received quotes in for a 40ft container shipment of household goods from Melb to UK (southampton). Eye-watering... If you've done the move back to the UK from Melbourne, I'd really appreciate if you could let me know some ballpark figures of what it cost you. Many thanks in advance, R

    Medicals - Southampton way

Hi folks, Haven;t been on pio for ages but fiinally got news on the visa application in that they have requested medicals and police checks. We have to get something booked by the 20th May. Due to the fact that having these medicals will involved oh having a day of work, we were thinking of getting them done when we are on holiday down near Southampton in the May half term. So my question is can anyone recommend a good place to have medicals done near Southampton. Thanks Mandisfam
  3. I was just wondering if anyone have done medicals in those centres and what was your experience?
  4. :jiggy:Hi everyone! Regarding the South meet up, Not much luck here finding somewhere local to everyone that has indoor play facilities! Many of which i have rang no longer do kiddie play! However Harbour lights On Bournemouth pier do as they have wacky wearhouse downstairs, So if any one else can find any thing suitable maybe we can get a list of possibilities and see what everyone thinks!!:arghh: also any dates in mind!!
  5. Hi Please bear with us - this is our fist posting although we have been viewing the (fab) site for the best part of a year!! We are a family of four, in receipt of our visas, hoping to head out to Brisbane or the Gold Coast in October. We have two rugby mad sons aged 13 and 10 and were wandering if anyone from the Soton area, with similar aged kids are headed in the same direction? Regards The Johnos
  6. Hello all Another box ticked. Meds done on Thursday evening (29th) with Dr Goodall in Southampton. He is really nice, relaxed and very (!) chatty. All straightforward in the end and no 'embarassing' examinations! He was really good with the children and let them watch very closely while he took our blood. Then he gave them the phial to hold - they were spookily fascinated - should I be worried! We're over the moon because my OH has smoked since he was 13 and we were worried about the chest xray (silly really because better to know if something is wrong!) but all is clear. Another good thing to come out of this process is that it has spurred him on to give up smoking and he gave up about 11 days ago :jiggy:Me and the children are so proud of him. I told him that just because xrays are clear, doesn't mean he can go back to smoking! So, now it's wait, wait wait - seems more real by the week. Alex
