  1. Hi there, I have moved to Liverpool U.K. from Melbourne and would love to make some new friends  I really miss all my mates that I grew up with and went to uni with etc. Its proving tricky to meet new people to socialize with as most people I meet at work are married with kids etc. I love going out clubbing, shopping, parties  all the normal stuff that a 21 year old girl enjoys. It would be awesome to meet some people who might be in the same boat or others looking to increase their circle of friends !! Hope to hear from some fun loving easy going people soon. Claire :jiggy: xx

Australia Day - where to celebrate?

Hi all, We are moving to a Melbourne on the 5th Jan from the UK and are obviously looking for ways of meeting people and making friends both for us and our 2 ankle biters. My wife's birthday is on the 24th Jan, 2 days before Australia Day and are looking to combine the two (that's not me being tight....just efficient...honest!) How is Australia Day celebrated in the bayside area? Are there events all over or do people just have parties at home and invite friends/neighbours etc? We will be living in the Seaford/Chelsea area so does anyone know of anything happening around there? Cheers guys Andy

    Melbourne migrant flying solo

Hey I'm moving to Melbourne from Brighton and arriving in early April. I'm going on my own and pretty much diving in at the deep end as I don't have a job or long term accommodation yet. Oh, I also don't know anyone! I am, however, very excited nonetheless! Wondered if anyone had any top tips for getting settled or fancied arranging a social after I've arrived?! Would love to hear from anyone who's been there a while or anyone arriving soon! Ashleigh
  4. Hi all I'm Alex (28) and Jamie (29) have moved over to Melbourne, from Yorkshire, on a 176 Visa with our 2.5 year old. We are currenty staying in a short-term let in Mornington but intend to move to Mordialloc mid January (pending the outcome of our applications - fingers crossed). We are keen to meet up wiith other 20/30 somethings with, or without, kids over the Christmas/New Year period. Jamie's a Plumber and Tiler and I am a PA. We're outgoing, have travelled, like socialising, cooking, and sports. Hope to hear from you soon x
  5. Hello everyone... Me and the gang are relocating to Frankston South on the 16th Dec and are really hoping that there might be a get together somewhere on the Peninsula around Christmas time. We moved over in April this year and initially got a 6 month rental in Lilydale, however, we've decided that as we'd always lived near the beach previously we wanted to be near the beach now. Have a lovely (but bloody expensive :wideeyed:) rental in Olivers Hill so have the kids enrolled at Derinya Primary School and my daughter will be able to get in at Frankston High School the year after! This is my wife's first Christmas in Australia and away from family and friends and I really want to make sure she enjoys it and I'm sure a catch up and BBQ somewhere would really help. Getting yourself a network of friends if crucial so here's hoping you're all up for arranging something. Not really sure of the best places to organise something like this so will through it open to those of you who are already in and settled. Will also post this on a couple of the other pages and forums to see what we can sort! Cheers all and hope to catch up soon! Cheers Spencer
