Looking for new friends in Sydney! Holsworthy area
rosiegunn posted a topic in Socialising Hobbies Clubs Sport
Hi all! I (24 female) have just moved to the area with my Aussie husband. He is in the army, hence the move, and I don't know a soul outside of his friendship group. I am also still in the job hunt stage so it is definitely lonely!! Hoping to make some new girlfriends in my area, for the usual - coffee, lunch, drinks, nights out, movies, beach dates and general get togethers! If anybody is in the same boat let me know, I would be glad to hear from you Also, if anybody is aware of any groups etc in my area that might be a great way to meet new people I would love to hear. Thanks!! xo- 1 reply

Newbie to Sydney - Looking for Socialising and any Sports people to Run or Play Footy with
iamdanaldridge posted a topic in Socialising Hobbies Clubs Sport
Hello. Have decided to quit the big smoke of london and have taken up a new job in Sydney. Moving over in mid-feb with my partner but very much looking to socialise and build up a good friendship group. Both very creative people - who's backgrounds are in Media and Fashion and looking to offset this with some socialising and some form of sport. Keen footballer - who is trying to still be peter pan (have played a lot of indoor football), keen runner and likes to play squash. Also interested in Boxing (although never actually done it other than watch Rocky in awe. Up for a few beers, beats or general creative chat. Any help, advice, or pointers would be greatly appreciative. Many thanks Dan -
Hi all, We are moving to a Melbourne on the 5th Jan from the UK and are obviously looking for ways of meeting people and making friends both for us and our 2 ankle biters. My wife's birthday is on the 24th Jan, 2 days before Australia Day and are looking to combine the two (that's not me being tight....just efficient...honest!) How is Australia Day celebrated in the bayside area? Are there events all over or do people just have parties at home and invite friends/neighbours etc? We will be living in the Seaford/Chelsea area so does anyone know of anything happening around there? Cheers guys Andy

Youngish family in Mona Vale/Warriewood looking to meet other families.
DrChris posted a topic in Socialising Hobbies Clubs Sport
Hi, I am a 40 year old professional pommie male with a 35yr old wife and two kids (3yrs and 0.25yrs) looking to meet up with other families with kids in Mona Vale/Warriewood/Newport areas. Does anyone know of any groups or places to meet up? I have seen a british flag in a tree in the flying fox care park in Mona Vale and wondered if this was an Ex-pat group meeting point? Thanks Chris -
Hi everyone, I have been here just over 2 weeks and I have fallen on my feet a bit, I have emigrated on my own - and I am sharing a flat in a nice place with an Australian lady. I am now looking to organise a social life, and someone who if I can be bold to suggest to meet up with for a drink and who can show me the good side of this beautiful city. I have no idea if there are lots of Poms in Oz in Melbourne, but I am guessing there are. I am looking for work at the moment and hope to have that sorted very soon - ever the optimist. If there is anyone, man or woman, as this is not a dating ad, who would be happy to show me around, I would be very grateful. If it helps you decide, I am in my 30's , single and from the West country. I look forward to hearing from you. Do reply to this thread with some contact details and we can go from there. Ta.
